allow me to redo this one.
2011 started off for me like a bad country song.
No job, destroyed my car in the snow, owed shit tons of money to stuff, and other ill shit
in the year I managed to:
-get a new job, which ended up being better than the last one in several ways.
-got a new car...last one got smeared in the snow and was barely getting me into work to the new job.
-kicked a pill habit (yeah I guess I am out of the closet with this one now, but let me tell ya, they make it easy to get fucked on this shit with the
way they are quick to throw -this shit at you for any ailment anymore)
-TCOB all of the shit with my son as his mom started fucking up again....won't even get into this
-Went to California for a week.
-got engaged.
- New Sheer Terror record......big deal to me at least.
-reconnected with people I had cut off and pleased they have straightened out. one who just got released from a 7 year prison sentence who i haven't
spoken to in 10 years.
-Nobody ODed this year (common cause of death here) and I didn't have to go to any funerals.
-might have figured out a few things

Seeing my dads face in my sons face the first time they held him up.. He passed away when I was 13 and this hit me hard. I'm man enough to admit it

A lot of really crappy things happened last year, but I like to try to put one foot infront of the other and look at the positive.
Losing my gram was tough, but being able to actually say good bye to her and tell her some things I was never able to tell my gramps helped calm some
of my inner demons.
My niece Cora was born, this brought my brother back into my life after about 10 years of not being able to hold a conversation with him with out it
turning into a huge fight.

Birth of my second child.(He's 6 months old today!)
Finally putting in the hard physical work to get in shape with the knowledge to back it up.
Finding a hole in the wall Bando kickboxing gym and getting started with it.
First child started kindergarten.
Some real big stuff, some not real huge stuff... it was a good year. I'm looking to make 2012 big in other ways. Lose so flab, build some muscle, put
in the hard work and dedication to get decent with kickboxing and maybe fight in a tournament... and add all that to the martial arts I've been doing

From everything I've seen on Facebook and in the various media surveys, it seems like a lot of folks had a crappy 2011. Mine certainly started out
that way. But then I quit drinking, met an incredible woman, started writing again, started learning guitar and mandolin, grew a pair and finally
started performing solo, watched my daughter make dean's list in her first semester of college (not to mention test out of most of her Freshman
requirements), moved out of the shithole I was left to deal with in February, and generally came back from a very very dark place in my mind. I'm
going to be making up for a lot of lost and wasted time this year.
Congrats to everyone for the births, engagements, weight loss, and all of the other accomplishments you've made in the last year. I hope the best of
your 2011 is the worst of your 2012.
