Official press release:

New York hardcore veterans Biohazard are teaming up with Revolver magazine and Repudo to give away their new record Reborn In Defiance in its entirety for free to all fans in the United States starting January 20, 2012.

The first such promotion ever launched, the record will be available for free download Revolver magazine's website, as well as through the technology offered by Repudo.com. Fans can check into Biohazard "Containment Zones" (record stores, venues, and more) across the United States using the Repudo app on their smart phones and download the new record directly to their phones or send it to their email inbox. A full map of the Containment Zones will be available soon. For fans who still want a physical copy of Reborn In Defiance, CDs will be made available for sale in conjunction with Record Store Day in April and will include exclusive additional content.

"When we started, we followed our hearts and innovated a new direction for heavy music, and today we're doing the same," says Biohazard vocalist/guitarist Billy Graziadei. "Technology has allowed us to find a new way to not only reach out to fans but also to thank them for their support all these years. Grab our album for free and we'll see you on tour!"

Reborn In Defiance is the highly anticipated new record that was recorded by the band's original lineup, its first such recording in almost 18 years, with producer Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Metallica).

It's free but I still don't want it. I know they are a really popular band but they just don't do anything for me.

worth every penny

JawnDiablo - 1-12-2012 at 12:51 PM

how many times do they say "MUTHA FUCKAH!" on it?

that's how I would guage a Biohazard record

XHonusWagnerX - 1-12-2012 at 02:11 PM

I'll definitly check it out, but I wonder if they are doing this because they couldnt get a deal they were happy with from a lable? Or maybe because its a brand new album, but its not the current line up of the band since they have to get a new singer?

After Urban Discipline, which even sounds silly these days lyrics wise I really don't like any of it.

Free in the US, fuck everyone else.

And not really the first offer of it's kind. Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, probably thousands of bands putting out their own records and small labels have done the same too.

Love it and can't wait. What I have heard so far has been solid. One song is not my cup of tea but There seems to be a new life breathed into these guys. Hope it works out for them. Love this band. Always will.

I'm all about it. I think it has everything to do with the turmoil within the lineup and they figure they will fair better profit wise off this deal than try and make a profit going the normal route. I wasn't having high hopes for its success in record sales because of all the BS they are dealing with. However, everything I heard sounds awesome and I look forward to it. Not to mention a tour.

I have invited them to dinner with me and my daughter if they ever make it to STL. I'm not kidding either.

Biohazard has apparently abandoned (or postponed) plans to make their new album Reborn In Defiance available for free download to U.S. fans. The band has issued the following statement:

"We regret to inform you all that due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to offer our new record 'Reborn In Defiance' in the US at this time. We love all of you who have continued to support us through the years and can't wait to share with you a record that we are extremely proud of. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience and a special thanks to our partners Revolver, Repudo and Google for their hard work setting this up. All of our touring plans are still solidified and we are excited to see you all out on the road!"

Mark Lind - 1-21-2012 at 11:38 AM

Well I certainly ain't paying for it.

DaveMoral - 1-21-2012 at 12:27 PM

Even if it was free I wouldn't bother. Hell, I have a few of their albums that I also go for free *wink wink* that I don't listen to.
