Vomit Just let me know Steve was doing the sticker sheets again and wanted me to work up some new ones but save/re-use some of the old ones from previous sheets.

So are those programs I could use for something like that? Text, layers. filters etc etc?

I use Pixlr for adding text and I think you can do layers. Its all webbassed so you dont have to download anything. Just hit that website and try it out!

Actually that almost looks like a complete photoshop rip. I'll have to play around with it once I find my files, thanks.

I use Pixlr and Gimp. Gimp is more stable in my opinion since it is a stand alone program and not web based. Both are awesome and free.

Next question...is there a good place to get large bunches of fonts? I used to have thousands on my old machine...I'd like to get a good stack of them to toggle through rather than shop around the sites for single fonts.

I'm a bit leery of downloading weird stuff on a new PC so anyone know any safe places to stock up?

BDx13 - 1-26-2012 at 11:58 PM

for pc or mac? if it's a mac, i'd be happy to zip up and over send the 5,000 or so i have.

i don't know of anywhere to get a bunch at once. sites like http://www.1001freefonts.com and http://www.dafont.com are FULL of freebies, but it's one at a time and there;s a lot of crap to wade through. check out http://www.fontsquirrel.com - they select the best of the freebies.

I got all my PC fonts from 1001 free fonts & da font as well. Never had problems.

Jason the Magnificent - 1-27-2012 at 07:41 AM

yeah PC....I'll try 1001....been a while since I used it wasn't sure if it was still safe.

Found a couple downloads that netted me about 1500 fonts on the B9 this morning...can't beat that.

Jesus Christ doing text in gimp is way more complicated than it needs to be...why are there like 9 steps to type text along a path?

Jason the Magnificent - 1-27-2012 at 11:45 PM

I stand corrected.

Gimp tutorial on how to place text on a circular path.
The demonstration shows in 21 steps how to place text around a circle.

21 steps...are you fucking serious?

I'm trying to Download GIMP and I cant find a link to download the program. I can find hte manuals in a ton of languages and a bunch of other links, but nothing takes me to a clear DOWNLOAD page for the program.

Anyone help me out?

XnMeX - 2-23-2012 at 09:46 AM

It's the first link on their download page labeled "Download GIMP 2.6.11" ;)
