yellow stitches are support at the revere show. one more reason to go!

random - 2-7-2012 at 06:06 PM

This should be a Thorp gathering!

I actually looked already and can get round-trip (and non-stop!) flight to Philly for $650. I will probably try to get tickets to the shows when they go on sale. If that works out, I'm really tempted to take some vacation time, check out the shows, and spend a few days in NYC visiting an old friend. Hell, I just need Philly ticket and Superbowl of Hardcore for NYC if Revere doesn't work out. But it would be pretty damn awesome to see Yellow Stitches.

So, any chance Philly people might consider renting a minivan and doing a road trip? BD, we can make it a station wagon if you prefer. :) Unlike my last potential trip to the US, there should be no visa/permit issues this time.

BDx13 - 2-10-2012 at 12:58 PM

already refreshing my browser window in anticipation of the noon sale.

mattybar - 2-10-2012 at 01:05 PM

i can't recommend seeing Cock Sparrer enough.
One of my favourite shows of last year without a doubt.

ChadBeantown - 2-10-2012 at 01:17 PM

got 8 tickets for Boston!!

BDx13 - 2-10-2012 at 01:17 PM

wow! thats crazy!

random - 2-10-2012 at 01:22 PM

they'll probably announce more shows then. they did a second one for the upcoming CA show with rancid because it sold out so fast.

thedog - 2-10-2012 at 01:55 PM

Missed out.

ChadBeantown - 2-10-2012 at 02:39 PM

I figured Boston would have sold out by now but there are still tickets available. Shawn, what is the capacity of Lido? I figured it was somewhere around 2000.

random - 2-10-2012 at 03:31 PM

managed to get tickets for both. and if i can't make boston for some reason, bnb is putting on the superbowl the same day: http://www.blacknblueproductions.net/site/event/bnb-bowl-201...

Discipline - 2-10-2012 at 04:43 PM

Cock Sparrer, Slapshot and the Templars playing together is a show I would travel for if I had more then $8 to my name.

BDx13 - 2-10-2012 at 04:50 PM

nothing against the philly show - i WILL be rocking' out the entire time - but that boston lineup is really something.

random - 2-10-2012 at 05:14 PM

I'm more excited about Philly, but it's probably for the same reason BD is more excited about Boston. I've seen the Templars a bunch of times, saw the Unseen once or twice, and will see Slapshot in two months.

I think I've caught Wisdom once, and only part of the set. Seen Harley's Cro-mags but not Jon Joseph's, though I have seen Bloodclot.

Never heard of this "Night Birds" band before.

ChadBeantown - 2-10-2012 at 06:58 PM

Boston is sold out

MattyA - 2-10-2012 at 07:18 PM

Love my wife, she got me my ticket. So excited for this!

Mark Lind - 2-11-2012 at 11:24 AM

I got tickets. It's gonna be a great time.

I haz a sad.

If anyone knows where I can get a couple of tickets without having to sell my blood or ass, let me know...

ShawnRefuse - 2-13-2012 at 10:00 AM

chad legal cap is 1200 I am sure they will let more people in at the door. I wish his was my show haha.

Mark Lind - 2-13-2012 at 10:28 PM

Still..... selling 1200 tickets in one day to an oi show in 2012 is pretty remarkable. This is great.

XHonusWagnerX - 2-14-2012 at 07:14 AM

stupid question that I've wondered for a long time.
What does the name Cock Sparrer mean?

thanks Johnny, I feel even dumber now! I swear I looked at the Wikipedia page and didnt see that. Sorry for being dumb!

So do you think its loosley translates to 'friend'?

Johnny_Whistle - 2-16-2012 at 11:52 AM

Basically, yeah. Some have shortened it to "cock" over the years (It's like the British have a different word for everything!), hence the origin of the names the Buzzcocks as well.

3rdDistrict - 2-16-2012 at 04:28 PM

i tried for the last 3 years to get cock sparrer in baltimore. Mad booking is awfully flakey.
none the less, real stoked for philly. I scored 4 tickets (sold them to friends face value), and apparently we're organizing a bus to take us baltimorons. Which basically means total drunken messes. prepar.

Keep trying! Hahaha, the more they come back to the East Coast, the happier I'll be!

Very, very excited for these shows.

BDx13 - 2-16-2012 at 10:04 PM

^ that's what i'm saying. more east coast dates are definitely needed.

where would you try to do that in bore, though, danny?

3rdDistrict - 2-17-2012 at 09:12 AM

i had sonar lined up. it fits around 1200. the venue was way into it.
i also wanted to do a secret show at the ottobar the night before. with all bmore hardcore bands.
pipe dream, i guess.

BDx13 - 2-17-2012 at 10:52 AM

we all gotta dream!

3rdDistrict - 2-17-2012 at 11:25 AM

the last thing mad booking dude said was something like 'cock sparrer doesnt know what their doing yet, but i can get you infa riot'. er, no thanks

Why would you go through MAD for US? Crawlspace Booking handles them here.

Night Birds are awesome. I guess they are the same idea as Radio Birdman, but not really.

BDx13 - 2-17-2012 at 11:42 AM

yeah, that's not the same thing. do you know MAD at all? maybe feeling you out as a promoter before handing over the big act.

BDx13 - 2-17-2012 at 11:43 AM

so, paul and jason... we gonna see you out on the floor and at the bar or you gonna be back stage all night?

jcarter - 2-17-2012 at 05:50 PM

SuchADangerous - 3-6-2012 at 11:18 PM

Forced Reality replacing Slapshot in Boston.

Wish they'd have replaced one of the other 2 bands, but still stoked to see Forced Reality!
