New Wisdom in Chains Anyone?

CR83 - 4-4-2012 at 11:11 PM

Anyone get it today? I'll be buying shortly as I'm sure it is strong. Anyone have the insight?

clevohardcore - 4-5-2012 at 12:39 AM

Its out? I'll look for it tomorrow. Not holding my breath that anyone has it locally though. Usually had to order them online. Side note. I text Billy G from Biohazard and simply asked what is up with the US release date and dude actually fucking replied quickly. I don't know him and he doesn't know me, but he was cool enough to do that. Said looks like second week of May. Not 100% though.

How is that even possible? If its that soon wouldn't the cd's have to be sitting in storage to be released that quickly on a moments notice? To think, quite possibly some storage room in the US sits a shitload of reborn in defiance cd's waiting to be sold. Again this may not be the case, but its a strange business music is.

It doesn't take that long to press CDs up...that's still like 6 weeks away. If they were at the plant now they could have them in 3 weeks if need be.

JawnDiablo - 4-5-2012 at 06:13 AM

preordered

clevohardcore - 4-5-2012 at 11:30 PM

Looks like I'm ordering it. Non one has it.

CR83 - 4-6-2012 at 09:17 PM

you can get WIC from itunes

Jason the Magnificent - 4-7-2012 at 07:54 AM

Yeah...the "clean" version.

I'm not paying money for an edited album...especially a hardcore album. That's just stupid. I can get metal albums talking about sodomizing grandmothers on there but can't hear WiC say fuck?

JawnDiablo - 4-7-2012 at 09:15 AM

you must be kidding?
a clean version?
in hardcore?
is this a joke?

clevohardcore - 4-7-2012 at 11:26 AM

Edit a hardcore record? From what? tails of struggle and how to make it through? What do you save it from itself?

BDx13 - 4-7-2012 at 04:11 PM

wait...there's a different version of the WIC album on iTunes? are you sure?

Jason the Magnificent - 4-7-2012 at 10:57 PM

When I look up WiC there's only one version of the new album and it has a little "CLEAN" stamp/symbol below it that you can click on for its explanation.

That's fucked. What a bummer

morgan - 4-8-2012 at 11:31 PM

Wow that sucks. Looks like I'm going to have to order it then.

From iTunes:
Quote:

The use of the Clean Lyrics label is to differentiate the edited version of an album or song whose content has been modified from its original form so that it does not require the Parental Advisory Label.

I don't know the details of ISR's and/or WIC's decision to make a clean version available, but I do know that if a song/album is labeled as explicit, that parental filters in iTunes will prevent that album from being available for purchase. So maybe they wanted it available to as wide of an audience as possible.

This is purely speculation, but since ISR handles the Euro and US releases, it could also have to do with restrictions in other regions, and they just carried the same versions over for worldwide release.

morgan - 4-9-2012 at 06:43 PM

Weird. I know a buddy of mine put an album out on itunes and ones of the tracks got labelled explicit because he said "shit" once in the song.

Jason the Magnificent - 4-9-2012 at 07:35 PM

Holy moses! Next time you're going to curse like that maybe we should censor the thread...a youngin may be reading!

Sorry... I'll be more careful next time.

JawnDiablo - 4-10-2012 at 02:06 PM

via WIC post on FB:

Here is our newest record on Itunes..So many people are asking us about a non edited version, because this one says "clean" on itunes. Disregard that, this is the only version out there. It sucks that it says that, its just another of so many problems we had releasing this CD. So, if you want the CD, and your an itunes person, this is the one:

Jason the Magnificent - 4-10-2012 at 07:50 PM

Good to know. F the Apple Empire.

Ok, time to put this on my iPod.:baddevil:

panzerkreuzer - 4-11-2012 at 09:42 AM

so, can we talk about the record?
i think itīs quite good, but you have to hear it a few times to get caught. the title track could become wicīs "one". "my friend" is the stand out for me. kinda disappointed that they used "snakes" another time.

BKT - 4-11-2012 at 09:45 AM

The first track on the album Defend, Protect is one of my favourites. When Joe drops that line "Get your fucking hand out of my pocket now" and then it kicks off that shit is sweet.

I love this album and you are right once you listen a few times and settle in to it, the record really takes shape.

BKT.
