Photographer Tou Chih-kang has been recording the last moments of canines at the Taoyuan Animal Shelter in Taiwan for two years. He has captured the
images of some 400 dogs, most of which were pets abandoned by their owners. To him the work is distressing, but he's trying to spread a message of
responsibility.

Powerful does not begin to describe what he is doing. I will probably always have a dog and I will never buy one. Too many excellent dogs to chose

Heavy story. I have always bought my dogs from a breeder, not the most popular way of going about it, but breeders do great things for specific breeds
of dogs and I don't mind supporting them.
That being said I have spent many many hours working and volunteering my time and my dogs time at the humane society over the years. Its my way of
giving back I guess.

No I have not. You could not buy one where I live even if you wanted to, they have been banned. Not to say I would if it was an option. I love those
dogs and all my experiences with them have been positive, but I don't know enough about the breed across the board to own one.
There are not too many Cane Corsos out there and they are a dog that I feel much more comfortable raising from a pup the way I want to raise them.
There is no room for guess work or bad habits when it comes to a 140 lbs mastiff. It takes a very serious commitment to raise a well behaved Cane
Corso.
I did however foster one for a bit while they found a permanent home for the dog. He was a great dog and understood the pecking order very well.
However, now that I have a child in the house I will no longer foster a dog of any kind.
