Janes Addiction tickets

clevohardcore - 7-8-2012 at 06:31 PM

The wifes B Day is tomorrow and this is one of her favorite bands. I figured I'd get tickets to see them and surprise her. I got surprised and walked the fuck out of the ticket line. Tickets are $50 each and a $13.00 service charge each ticket + other taxes and that is the middle priced tickets. Who the fuck thinks this is normal or fair? If this is on JA then to hell with those codependent millionaires past their prime. If this is completely ticketmaster shitheads well are they pricing themselves out of money on purpose? Or do people blindly pay with no issues? I am only the idiot who is not with the times? What the fuck is going on?

The problem is we still need to drive(gas) and go to dinner. That evening could easily be a $250 to $300 night just because of a 1+ hour show. Fuck this I hate being broke.

you should see the prices of some of the big acts coming thru Philly Clevo.

I have issues with paying the prices as a matter of principles.

I balked at Queens of the Stone Age a few years back cuz the price was up there, but now I really wish I paid up just cu they are a personal favorite.

Unless it is Motorhead with Sheer Terror opening, I just can't see paying $50 a shot

clevohardcore - 7-8-2012 at 08:30 PM

I really is bullshit.

sentrand - 7-8-2012 at 11:08 PM

these "fees" are a joke. i recently bought cheap ass $8 tickets for a cubs game at wrigley. fucking fees were like $12 a ticket. then on top of that i coulda added a $37 parking pass. itll be worth it cuz i have wanted to see wrigley for years.
i also just paid $52 to see gaslight anthem at some shitty festival hyere in cincinnati!. janes addiction is headlining this fest next friday might.

we might run up to columbus.

gavin - 7-9-2012 at 01:30 AM

I'm seeing him in Atlantic city...

morgan - 7-9-2012 at 04:33 AM

Fuck that. It better be one of my absolute favorite bands if I will being even willing to consider dropping that kind of money for a concert.

Johnny_Whistle - 7-9-2012 at 08:22 AM

$50 for Jane's Addiction? Shit, I remember paying $8 to see them at the Living Room in Providence.

lifeisabitch - 7-9-2012 at 11:03 AM

I just saw them with the cult at a festival a few months back for 35.00
well worth the money though
the show was beyond amazing

Jason the Magnificent - 7-9-2012 at 11:07 AM

That's pretty much standard "big act" larger venue price via ticketmaster. I passed on Maiden last time because tickets for lawn seats were like $70 each after fees. Plus fees being per ticket instead of per order is kind of lame.

and tickets still sell out.

clevohardcore - 7-9-2012 at 11:28 AM

Well they must be if they continue to sell them for that much. I broke down this morning and bought 2 for her birthday. i was checking out youtube vid's of the new shows and it looks like Jane's are kicking more ass now than they did back in the day. The Morrissey show is in Columbus like Sentrand says. I might have to grab those as well soon.

Mark Lind - 7-10-2012 at 08:52 AM

I saw Jane's at a little place in Portland, ME a few months ago. They were awesome!

coulda used a heads up on that one, homie! KDG got tickets, right? i saw her post about it recently, searched immediately, and saw it was sold out.

gavin - 7-10-2012 at 07:21 PM

Man,she was on some pre sale voodoo shit...she jumped on that shit 4 seconds after it started..literally..then called me...I had no knowledge of anything other than it happened and they were 40 million dollars.

Discipline - 7-11-2012 at 09:16 PM

I could never pay those prices for a show. I could when I was really young and was used to big metal shows, but I got spoiled by punk/hardcore shows. I can't justify spending that much for a show unless it's some insanely amazing festival.

gavin - 7-11-2012 at 11:25 PM

I never saw morrissey before, which is why I'm paying honestly

Discipline - 7-12-2012 at 10:25 AM

I'd actually like to see him live as I haven't seen him either, but I can't justify it to myself.

panzerkreuzer - 7-12-2012 at 10:30 AM

you cry on a high level with that ticket prices. over youŽd pay at least twice the price to see acts like the ones you mentioned...

BDx13 - 7-12-2012 at 09:01 PM

i saw morrissey for the first time when he was in philly a few years back. really good show, but i'll never go back to the academy of music - those seats weren't built for guys like me.
