On 29 October 2009, it was announced that British actor Tom Hardy was in negotiations to take the lead role of Max, and Charlize Theron will also play
a major role. The plot will be set shortly after the events of Beyond Thunderdome. In June 2010, Hardy announced on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross
that he will play the title role in a new version of Mad Max. One source reported in July 2010 that Miller would shoot two Mad Max films back-to-back,
Mad Max: Fury Road and Mad Max: Furiosa.
