Me - A band.
Him - But what is it?
Me - It's music.
Him - Are you sure?
Me - Yes. Why?
Him - Doesn't sound like music to me, just weird noises.
Me - It's an acquired taste.
Him - No, it just sucks.

Not too long ago he came by while I was listening to Negative Approach, and once again wondered what I was listening to. Trying to explain the sound
quality of a show being recorded live on a shitty ghetto blaster in a crappy club got me nowhere. Had the same thing another time when I was
listening to some old demo from the early eighties. His response tends to be along the lines of "if it sounds so bad why would they put it out?" At
this point he's really not a music fan, and definitely not obsessed with music like me, so it just doesn't make sense to him.
