Ironically, Posi Numbers 2005 ended prematurely today in Wilkes-Barre, PA following violence. Reports indicate that during Cold World's set, a scuffle broke out that enventually resulted in a security guard getting injured. The police were soon called in and the show was subsequently shut down. Several bands, including Blacklisted, Champion, and Killing Time never got to perform.

I'm so happy I didn't go with KT to the show... waiting around all day and then having some jerkoff ruin it.

forsaken - 8-1-2005 at 05:18 AM

Can't those .... 'dudes' ... who like starting fights take it somewhere else, I had friends who travelled 10,000 miles to see killing time. Jesus Christ. Lets not get into the 'violence at shows' debate though.....

And during Cold World too? They aren't even hard!

moron - 8-1-2005 at 10:02 AM

Bummer. That makes me kinda glad that I didnt end up going. Even though I would have liked to have seen a bunch of those bands that played my weekend was just fine without drama like that. Instead I got to bond with my brother in law. Singing along to Bad Religion and working on my car!

XHonusWagnerX - 8-1-2005 at 11:08 AM

It was a hardcore show so there had to be a fight so that someone could prove they were tougher than someone else.

Fucking Idiots.

Discipline - 8-1-2005 at 01:12 PM

Fucking idiots.

Todd - 8-1-2005 at 01:14 PM

That's one of the things I'm kind of looking forward to when we're in Europe. Apparently that nonsense doesn't seem to happen very much. I like fights but these days it always seems to be big vs. small or many vs. one. You can almost pick out the guy that's gonna start the fight before the show even starts. I feel bad for the people who travelled a long distance to see KT.

XHonusWagnerX - 8-1-2005 at 03:36 PM

I think I only saw one figure in Europe and Ive been there 3 times and seen about 45-50 shows there. Plus the one fight I saw was a guy heckeling the band and spitting and throwing shit and the crowd kicked his ass and tossed him out the door!

it wasn't DURING cold war. it was 15 minutes after they played. righteous jams were starting to set shit up. the best day of the fest was completely ruined and i had to take a bus home early because i had nowhere to stay.

what up 4 hour layover in boston from 2am to 6am and no sleep in 40 hours.

Murk - 8-2-2005 at 01:58 AM

Knowing that Killing Time was going to play and didn't, sucks big time!

Dude, I'm sorry, I hadn't a clue who you were!! I'm nice, I don't bite. Sorry we missed the chance to meet up!

Normally I am pretty disgusted by meeting people soley off of messageboards, but since this one seems to be a rare haven of sanity, I wouldn't mind it at all.

Thorp board rules for one reason...

It's all grown ups.

XHonusWagnerX - 8-3-2005 at 02:24 PM

Anyone have any clue what the fight was about? Did someone get the last "Posi #'s limited edition hand numbered with special cover orange/blue/green spatter vinyl with beige lables stamped in untraviolet ink" and then a rival gang beat them up because someone in their crew wanted it?

make sure you post the link I NEED that one SO BAD! I want the one that the fight was over though. I heard theres some blood splatter on the vinyl making it even rarer!!

moron - 8-3-2005 at 03:25 PM

that's some funny shit and collecting records definitely makes no sense most of the time, but I do it anyway.

so do I. Im making fun of the fight more than anything else allthough it is hysterical how the bands are secondary to the merch at Posi #'s to most people.

Im sure the fight was over something as stupid as a record anyone. Actually it was probably because someone decided they wanted to beat someone up and just picked a random person

KyleOz - 8-3-2005 at 03:59 PM

I spent a $100+ at the thorp merch table at hellfest last year over a period of 3 days. True story. Well spent to say the least.

I barely bought anything else music related. I bought a shitload of water and slushies especially on the third day due to being semi hungover.

BDx13 - 8-3-2005 at 04:14 PM

yeah, and we don't even do anything special. just sellin' the same crap you can buy in our store!

Discipline - 8-3-2005 at 04:18 PM

Yes, but as I have discovered time and time again it isn't difficult to find something good to order in the Thorp store. Which is why you guys keep getting my money.

KyleOz - 8-3-2005 at 04:22 PM

Plus I don't have a credit card, so I buy in bulk whenever I get the chance when the opportunity is there. Most of it were cds but I picked up the grey thorp records shirt and the nsk danzig one as well.

5 years ago there where venues closing there door for hardcore in the Netherlands. The Dutch are not so mellow as you think that they are. :)

I think there?s always gone be fights at hardcore shows, where ever you are. Sometimes the fights are a good thing some times they don?t make any sense.
