There not playing and as far as I know there are a bunch of bands on that list that are not confirmed and are probably not playing. Anyone thats thinking about making a big trip to go out there should make sure the bands they want to see are REALLY playing. It would have been an amazing show, but now it seems like a crap shoot as far as who IS and ISNT playing..... Unless they release a new list of CONFIRMED bands.

tireironsaint - 8-10-2005 at 12:39 PM

I don't see anything about any shows listed on the Slapshot site and I'd kinda like to hear the official word from them. Any chance their record label could provide some insight here, Duane?

As for other bands, I've checked out quite a few on that list and they're all confirmed, so I dunno about all the rumors going around.

I know they had Blood for Blood on the list wahile ago and I aske Ian about it and they are obviously not playing it. Seems like this has happened with a few bands on this show so like it was stated earlier.... Make sure the bands you want to see are confirmed before making the trek!

I can confirm for you that Slapshot not playing the Wasted Festival is 100% accurate.

BDx13 - 8-10-2005 at 01:04 PM

no idea what slapshot is up to. they did kinda stand out in that line up to me though.

Yes, Slapshot are no longer playing unless something can be worked out. Cockney Rejects are not playing now but might be replaced of equal value. Guys, it's true that this began as a total clusterfuck but trust me, the reigns are being pulled in and we're taking care of business. This festival is gonna go off.

No offense man, but the reason I said "official word" is that I have no idea who the fuck you are and random people on messageboards aren't exactly known for being the number one place for 100% true info.

thats fine, I understand but you can take my word for it when it comes to stuff that has to do with them. Anything else and it would be my opinion, my best guess or a rumor I heard, but not with slapshot.

I take it from your wording that you are involved in the Fest, right? I guess this is a bit more official news, but I still hesitate to take the word of anyone about anything without some kind of proof to back it up. Oh well, I'm still trying to figure out a way to make it out there with a few of my friends. You could take away half of the lineup and I'd still be interested, it's not like I can possibly see everything playing all three stages at once anyway.

That's all well and good, but it still doesn't tell me who you are or why your info would be any better than anyone else's. I mean, I've been a hge Slapshot fan since I first heard 'em about 16 years ago or so and I try to keep up with wha's going on with them, but I'm not gonna say I have all the info on 'em, y'know what I'm sayin'?

Yeah, I'm involved with the festival as I met with the promoters previously and have been setting up the sponsorships & vendor booths through my job at TKO Records. I understand people are going to be sketchy about the lineup. But with this many bands, you are bound to have things happen and some bands not end up playing. Just the way things go. I've told the booking agent to take Slapshot off the list but he's seeing if there is anything he can do to get them to come out. I'd love to see them as well since I've been listening to them since I was a kid. Cock Sparrer, The Effigies, The Crack, Avengers....I'd be there regardless if I was working on this or not.

Just realized I meant to quote Tireironsaint, and not on this post. Sorry about that.

Must be nice. We let terrorists into Canada on a regular basis but bands like The Exploited, The Business, and DRI just can't get in cause of minor criminal records.

BDx13 - 8-10-2005 at 07:25 PM

josh, thanks for keeping everyone on this board up to date about the show.

tireironsaint - 8-10-2005 at 07:30 PM

Hey Josh, nice to see TKO represented around here, I've bought so many records from that label it's just nutty. So many of the bands I like end up on TKO for at least a record or two, not to mention how my hometown (Austin) seemed to be the TKO home away from home for a while when you guys were picking up bands left and right out there. TKO's still one of the few labels that I've never really heard anyone badmouth, much like Thorp here.

I'll pass the kind words on to Mark TKO. Mark is probably one of the most honest people I know. I don't know the Thorpe guys personally but we do pick up their releases and rock 'em at the office. That Sheer Terror dvd was just tits. Forced Reality...my first botched tattoo at the tender age of 14 (reminds me, I need to pick up the Forced Reality shirt the Thorp store has. Last one I had was from the Patriot Records days)..I wouldn't be surprised if Mad Sin start giving Tiger Army a run for their money over here in the U.S...Thorp has some solid shit going on..I'm fucking rambling but I guess that's what no sleep does. Austin definitely has something in the water. Complete Control are amazing. Beltones have laid down HQ there now. I could go on & on about Austin. If any of you guys make it out to Wasted, come up and say hello.

looks 10x better than hellfest, too me anyway

tireironsaint - 8-11-2005 at 01:37 AM

10x, I think that's putting it a bit low. You couldn't have paid me to sit through almost 90% of Hellfest, but I'm really really hopin' to find a way to make it to Wasted.

And Josh, I'll make a point to stop by if I do make it out, thanks.

Hormigueros - 8-12-2005 at 10:25 AM
