Slapshot. I love Slapshot and I'm always hearing people talk shit about them, especially Choke. I like the fact that he says whatever he wants,
regardless of the consequences. I know some of the NY people hate them cause of the old NY/Boston rivalry, but even some people in Boston talk shit
on them. Am I missing something?

People are always talkin' shit on people and bands that are above and beyond what their small, malformed brains can handle. Don't let the shit talk
bring you down, these idiots just want some way to make themselves feel important and the only way they can come up with is by trying to make
something or someone better than them look bad.

Slapshot is cool to me.

i don't even know what the NYC / Boston rivalry even was, and don't give 2 shits in the wind either. In my opinion Slappy had a bunch of really good
catchy hardcore anthems of songs and a bunch of stupid ones to match them but over all step on it and sudden death overtime are some great shit when i
tune them in these days ...12-15 years later.
most of the people talking shit arent even old enough to remember them days....and honestly i could care less because you know what ...those old days
werent always that memorable or as great as some throwback hardcore types will make them out to be in the first place.....please excuse me , i'm going
out to try and wash my car for the first time since may before it is too hot and humid to breathe....

I always liekd them and continue to like them

I think most of it comes from the early nineties when Slapshot kind of turned their backs on and started talking about the escalating violence at some
of the shows, caused by some of the people in that "scene". It got pretty bad in the tristate area for awhile during any of the shows. Especially Sam
Black Church, Tree, 454 Big block and the likes. I can remember many an unecessary violent incident at an otherwise great show. Oh well, life is what
it is...........

And I do like Slapshot alot, 16 Valve hate is till my favorite, but I have listened to Stars and Stripes way more than all the Slapshot albums put
together, I cannot get enough of it.
DeathByForce - 8-14-2005 at 04:56 AM
Slapshot is amazing!
But the second Stars & Stripes cd was so poor.

the first song i ever heard was crossover sucks .... and i was hooked, it's raw and hard yet very very catchy .. it's head and shoulders above what
most new hardcore bands are churning out.
JawnDiablo - 8-14-2005 at 09:59 AM
the gilligans island theme at the end of the back on the map record...
Voodoobillyman - 8-14-2005 at 08:45 PM
Stars and Stripes is not the same on the second album I agree, only the first one.........and crossover sucks is a great song but so far into their
musical carrer, you need to look into some older stuff, not better but just as good
DeathByForce - 8-15-2005 at 05:04 AM
one of my favourite songs is definitely back on the map. such a catchy song!
I'm going to get it back
Get back what we had
We're going to fight to make it right!
You know we'll use our might!
We're going to take it to the start
We know we use our heart
We're going to fight to get it back
You know we'll be back on the map!!!

Those were good times, the Taang years, when the Bruisers were cruisin and Slapshot was on top of their game. Good times indeed. I am glad I grew up
where I did listening to and having the opportunity to see the bands I did. the only place i would have accepted as a substitute (and Gabe will like
this one) is Texas. I love alot of the music that has come from there.
DeathByForce - 8-15-2005 at 09:43 AM
Danny Glover is my favourite Texas band.
