I thought that the city said that the landload couldnt kick them out based on the back rent and stuff? Jeeze... I swear only a couple of weeks ago I
heard that they were basicly all set.

Dave New Breed has tickets to see SOIA there this weekend. He'll also be in Lettermans audience on Monday for those who care.

a few weeks ago, they ended the back rent dispute, but that did nothing for the question of the new lease. the old one ended last night at midnight.
apparently the mayor started getting into it recently, but who knows what that'll do.

CBGB's lease is officially over, but the fight to save the club is rocking on.
As of Thursday morning, the club had not been served with an eviction notice, even though is the Bowery Residents' Committee says it will not renew
the club's lease.
The BRC, a non profit organization to help the homeless, says it's already spent too much on the fight and it's in its best interest to "sever this
relationship."
A spokesman for the club says they are already booked through September and will take its case to the courts if necessary.
?We hope that there can still be a peaceful resolution and we can stay here and co-exist and be good partners and provide arts, culture, and
entertainment and help the homeless on the Bowery," said CBGB Spokesman Scott Goodstein.
Supporters of the punk rock haven held a rally in Washington Square Park Thursday in support of the club. Performers included Blondie, Lou Reed, and
Gavin Rossdale.
CBGB's has been a staple in the Bowery since 1972, and helped launch the careers of many bands, including The Ramones, and The Talking Heads.
