Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

My latest acquisitions

BDx13 - 9-18-2005 at 11:19 PM

This weekend I raided my sister-in-law's cd collection and copied a bunch of stuff that either 1)I owned in the past but no longer do, 2)I have always wanted, but never got around to buying, 3)my wife wanted, or 4)I would never, ever spend money on, but want to hear what the hype is about. Only got through "F", so I'll have to get more at Thanksgiving.

So... which should I have bought years ago, which am I going to love, and which should I delete from my machine immediately? I know I'll catch crap for some of these...

I would have saved space by cutting it down to these.....
Avail - Dixie

Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death

But then again, I'm the asshole who thinks 99.9999% of all music is pure shit and yet I still love music more than just about anything.

Good luck tolerating Anti-Flag. I liked Sugarcubes Bjork, but I can't stand most of her solo stuff. The Breeders I liked in high school, but I can bearly remember what they sound like now.

And pretty much what SAAAAARS said: Bouncing Souls, Decendents, Bad Religion...And FM 'Swagger', need I say more? There's a lot there I'd like to check out. Damn, you hit pay dirt.

man, Bad Religion-Generator

I haven't heard that album in years, I really need to pick that up along with Against the Grain. Two of my favorite albums by them and I don't own either.

Ive been listening to the descendents again recently. Theyre always awesome, though I havent heard the newest one. Bad Religion is always good in my book.

godabandonedme - 9-19-2005 at 03:08 PM

Avail and Decendents. Nice.

KyleOz - 9-19-2005 at 03:33 PM

Get rid of that coheed too unless you enjoy it.

I know I can't stand the dudes voice.

crazyfists28 - 9-19-2005 at 05:30 PM

agreed on that, his voice just was not what i expected

So far...

Trail of the Dead - not really my thing, but I'd put it on if i needed background music or was in the company of someone who wasn't into aggressive music.

AFI - Not terrible, but it's kinda cute. 'Halloween' cover is entertaining.

Alkaline Trio (all) - Catchy music, but I'm having a hard time with that voice. Still interested in the new album, though, mostly because of the art. See what good design can do to a person?

Anti-Flag - Didn't get all the way through the album. Got bored after three songs.

Avail (Dixie) - The only Avail album I have is 'Over the James' and I think it's amazing. Dixie sounds like a completely different vocalist and is pretty raw production-wise, but I like it a lot.

Coheed & Cambria - Is that a dude on vocals? Completely unlistenable. Immediately deleted from my machine.
