That movie was incredible. I couldn't believe how well done it was. Usually when they do something like this, especially from a true story, they gloss over the reality and go strictly for sensationalism.

KyleOz - 10-4-2005 at 04:32 PM

Fallen with Denzel Washington too. The story line and plot were excellent yet I never heard anyone talk about this.

crazyfists28 - 10-4-2005 at 05:08 PM

Dead Alive is fuckin' brilliant, one of my top ten for sure.

I'm gonna say Bubba Ho Tep as my favorite underrated movie of all time.

thedog - 10-5-2005 at 01:11 AM

memento is an awesome movie.

Voodoobillyman - 10-5-2005 at 08:25 AM

YES Bubba Ho Tep, I love JFK!!!!!!!!!! That movie is amazing:)

Voodoobillyman - 10-5-2005 at 08:26 AM

All Troma films, especially Bloodsucking freaks and Terror Firmer, which has Blood for Blood on the soundtrack, when the killer is stabbing that dude to death with his bong, classic.

XnMeX - 10-5-2005 at 02:19 PM

Someone said Fight Club and American Psycho.... They both got some good attention to them, but not nearly what they deserve. Both are excelent books made into excelent movies.

Candyman 1 & 2 deserve more attention as well. Tony Tood makes such a badass villain and is one of the only horror movie villain I can think of in american film that isn't a white male (with very few exceptions on sex (Ex. Female killer in Urban Legends), but never on race, I am sure there are some but none come to mind.)

Personally I think American Psycho is vastly OVERrated, not UNDERrated. It's a great idea, using a sociopathic killer as a metaphor for yuppies, but it bored the shit right outta me.

I like Mr. Terror Aesthetic choices, In a Glass cage is amazing... i see you like some pretty brutal stuff there, you should check out "Scrapbook" i'm sure you'd like it.

If you guys like foreign movies then I recommend checking out these:

La Haine (French)
Pusher 1 + 2 (Danish)
City of God (Brazilian)
I stand alone (French)
Hipnos (Spanish)

All totally outstanding. :)

La Haine is so good. I need to watch it again.

Yeah you should check out I stand alone (Seul contre tous) it's by the same guy that made Irr?versible. It's the movie equivalent of listening to Sheer Terror, Neglect + Blood for Blood. A real "feel good" movie, hahaha.

And Pusher is awesome as well, it's all about a drug dealer in Copenhagen and how things go wrong for him and then spiral out of control.

I didn't think that movie was all that great personally. I hate when they shit it 50 million times on Comedy Central (same as Dogma, Airheads, CB$, etc.... I love all those movies, but comedy central kills them and then airs em 50 times in a weekend)

BDx13 - 10-7-2005 at 10:12 AM

comedy central is beat the hell out of a movie. but i love coming to america. it's so rediculous, and like, every single scene is a mini skit. it's one of the few movies where i could probably recite the entire dialogue as i watch along. that and sense and sensibility. love that movie.

some Coming to America trivia for ya....

who was the guy that tried to rob the fast food joint?

moforn - 10-8-2005 at 05:48 PM

Not really underrated, but Ghost dog is worth mentioning, I saw it last night and enjoyed it more than any other film I've seen in some time. It's a Jim Jarmusch movie that sort of combines the gangster and samurai genres, and the RZA did a great job with the music.
For overrated- I really didn't care at all for The Excorcism of Emily Rose, I could go into specific complaints but wouldn't want to ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Terror Aesthetic - 10-10-2005 at 01:57 AM

ill make sure to check out "scrapbook". if you want to see about the most brutal, gut wrenching stuff out there check out august undergrounds mordum. i wont give the last scene away but i will say that i was shaking my head and saying holy shit man thats got to be a dummy.. for about ten minutes.
