Biohazard calling it quits

BDx13 - 10-12-2005 at 10:04 AM

from blabbermouth...

In a recent interview with Britain's Zero Tolerance magazine, Biohazard guitarist/vocalist Billy Graziadei confirmed that the band's recently released tenth album, "Means to an End", will also be their last: Biohazard are splitting up.

"It was a natural progression with the band," Billy said. "We've grown in different areas. I have a daughter and I'm focusing now on my other band Suicide City [also featuring former Kittie bassist Jennifer Arroyo]; Danny [Schuler, drums] has three kids now, so things have really changed for him; Evan [Seinfeld, vocals and bass] is doing his big porno-acting thing now, and that's cool. One of the things about Biohazard is that it's your life, your way. So to each his own.

"I think over the years we just grew apart," Billy continued. "I've come to a stage in my life where I've come full circle and music is only for pleasure now. Don't get me wrong, I always dug it, always enjoyed it, I've had a fucking great time, but I didn't know any better. All I had was music. But my reality now is that I have a family and we've got to pay the bills. I'm no different from you ? we've both got to buy the same token to ride a train, you know? So I'm back in the workforce, hanging out with my buddies at the weekend and dealing with the bullshit so I can enjoy the pleasures of life, like making music."

wow... I wonder what kind of a day job Billy Biohazard has? I still have a letter I got from him like 15 years ago. I had sent away for the demo and they were all out and he sent a letter apologizing and saying that the LP would be out on Maze Records soon.

I knew that they were done and it seems like it would have more to do with Evan than anyone else. At least they will do a last tour and put out a good last record. Plus I'm sure they will do the standard reunion shows from time to time.

Billy and I have exchanged e-mails over the summer a couple of times. He was actually selling for Coke (the soda) in the late summer. He is currently on tour with Suicde City and then a national tour in 06 as a send off for Bio. He's a total class act and just a great guy.

I'm a huge mark for them. My assumption was the Evan sort of pulled away from things but that is a TOTAL assumption. No diss to him either. I will only wish them luck in whatever they do. They have always been real cool at shows and I love their music.

Geez, you'd think I'm crying about this shit.

BD do you lurk over at Blabbermouth? I stop by there all the time. There is so much garbage over there but sometimes you'll get some goods. I use it as a way to keep up with Biohazard, Obituary and Deicide.

Man that band is and will always be awsome. They did it for a long time and yes I hope this final tour happens. It's like letting go of something important to me. I loved some of the stuff they put out and some of it was ok, but they were great. Even when they let some of the "hardcore" go for the metal fans. They have always stayed and treaded on the same style of music. Maybe they began to tune down a little but they still did it the same way. Good band.

Anyone who finds out. Please keep us posted about any tour info about them. This will be a show to not miss.

wow man, the 'hazard' are splitting up. ive seen them live i'd say about 10 times, an awesome live show, full of energy. the last time was with a good few 'hardcore' veterans including agnostic front, in sheffield in the uk. biohazard was just fuckin superb, played all the mosh pit fave's. biohazard are also the only band to play at donnington monsters of rock and have the plug pulled cuz they got the stage invaded by the crowd, SUPERB! they only played about 2 songs! they were back the year after though and played awsome, and evan helped out sepultura on that day cuz of the shit that happend with max cavelera's boy.

urban disapline is definatly a classic record, and still gets a playing at least once a week.

so cheers biohazard for the music.
down for life
