Between The Burried And Me

Any fans here? Their new album Alaska has been getting a lot of promotion.

Yeah, I couldn't get through the first song.

Terror Aesthetic - 10-21-2005 at 06:05 AM

unmoved.

I actually liked their first 6 song ep/demo.

I would like this band more though if they made up their mind on being a progressive band or a metalcore band.

They are all over the place, and I can't seem to get into it. I will admit they are tight musicians.

I didnt like their first album and never gave the second album a chance. I'll probably download the new one to see if it's any different, but I doubt I'll be into it. Like Oz said... theyre just all over the place.

they want to be all over the place, i don't think it's a bad thing. i have their first two albums but i got bored with them after a while. i heard that alaska isn't as good as the first two.

That what is wa spretty much like when I saw on broken chicken wings live, I kid you not.

I checked out the new song Alaska, I really liked the intro sounded really jazzy/progressive, then it goes into him go "RAWR RAWR RAWR" and for some reason I was let down. I liked that one song from their previous album they did a video of. I have nothing agaisn't stuff all over the place either, just I'd expect to to be...more cohesive/transition better?

BDx13 - 10-21-2005 at 04:23 PM

yeah, i don't really get into stuff that's all over the place. i'll admit, i've never listened to an entire album of their's but dillinger falls into the same category for me.

KyleOz - 10-21-2005 at 04:30 PM

I might want to hear the whole album

YSI?

LOL!@12

I kid with the aol talk, but I'll try to listen to the whole thing.

Dillinger I can take. It took me a while to get into them, but once in a while I'll break them out and enjoy it. Every once in a while I'll find something interesting in one of their songs Ive never noticed before which is pretty cool. Recently I was listening to Miss Machine and the last song has a section with an awesome riff and drum part. That sort of stuff keeps me listening to them.

Voodoobillyman - 10-21-2005 at 08:51 PM

I think Meshuggah is the best at the progressive/jazz stuff. I do have an affinity for both genres though, have you ever listened to Monk or Mingus, both my favorites when it comes to Jazz, especially Mingus, he is AMAZING.

Terror Aesthetic - 10-22-2005 at 03:52 AM

far as new stuff i like the red chotd. dillinger while totally musically competant just has no soul from where i stand.

clevohardcore - 10-23-2005 at 08:45 PM

I never heard them ever.

KyleOz - 10-23-2005 at 08:55 PM

So I gave the new one a listen

I really did like Alaska, Croakies and BoatShoes, Selkies - The endless obsession 1, Roboturner

The Primer was my favorite track

The instrumentals weren't that bad either.

Wasn't that bad. Mediocre except for those few tracks in my opinion.

I like the red chord and dillinger as well.
