Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

One movie that is an absolute favorite. Please do not list a second. And tell why.

Stand By Me

I like the unity they had as friends. The fact that they separated only reminds me more of what really happens in life. Also the way life was told and summed up in the movie. It was real. It's like laying everything on the table for a movie and just being honest. No flashy excitement just a good and honest movie.

watched palindromes lat night. during the movie i said "jesus christ" four times and "holy shit" once and remained silent for the rest of the duration. tomorrow id tell you something different but today its palindromes. left me feeling sad and foul. new tod solondz. same guy that did happiness, storytelling and welcome to the dollhouse. guy really brings out the ugly behind the veneer of mediocraty that the middle class uses as a shield in this society. suburban horror. fuckin great.

The 13th Warrior. Yeah okay, its Antonio Banderas, but there's lots of great Viking battles and they recite this really cool verse before every one.

Aliens is my favorite movie of all time. Great action, cool effects. Plus Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton ruled in that movie.

This si what I'm talkin. A movie that is your all time favorite. Not some movie you jsut saw that was good. DIG DEEP BROHAMS AND THINK OF WHAT MOVIE IS PERSONALLY YOUR FAVORITE.

BDx13 - 11-16-2005 at 02:00 AM

All right. You sitting down...?

Sense and Sensibility is hands down, my absolute, all time favorite movie. Yes it's an excellent portrayal of Jane Austin's classic, and yes it does have an all-star cast, but I'm also a sucker for period pieces, and there are certain storylines that I very much identify with, making it an emotional film that really hits home every time I watch it.

There. Is that the kind of answer you were looking for?!

Now that I'm sober and thinking as clearly as one possibly could I guess, I still say The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. My thing is Horror movies, I love them, huge geek fan of the genre conventions, toys memorabilia and all I am an avid collecter of all things Horror. My first real experience with this genre was the aformentioned film. I was at a friends house one night, we were about 6 or 7 years old and his older brother was watching us. His brother puts this movie in and lets us watch it. I was mezmorized, I couldnt take my eyes away although I found it most distrubing which I liked very much. I realized I liked being scared ALOT. After the movie I had to walk three blocks at night to get home, talk about moving my ass I ran the whole way scared shitless, again, I loved it. Ever since I have been deep into horror flicks and will watch just about anything, but that one movie, the one that started it all for me, is near and dear to my heart. Thats why it's my favorite all time. In my drunken slur I believe I said it had the most impact on me.

I think I have to go with Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Its one movie that I purposly put in the DVD player on a regular basis. I love the look of it (its old!), I love the way it was shot so in some ways it looks like a documentary or like actual crime footage. It set up the world for some amazing characters as well as some really great ripp offs. Leather Face is great, 'the Hitch Hiker' is great. The whole idea of cannibals living among others and no one knows. I just think its a great movie all around.

Its possible that Devils Rejects will be a movie like this for me if it stands the test of time in 10-15 years. That movie is just another display of great characters.

I love the fact that she was underage. Only 17 when she did that flick.

I can't list one single favorite of all time because there's too many movies I love. I'll pick one at random right now....Shaun Of The Dead. That movie is better every fuckin' time I see it. It's funny as all hell, the characters are great and you actually get to where you care about some of them and hate others, plus it's actually got some scares and some really gory parts as well. On top of all that, it's one of the best versions of what people would really act like if there were zombies runnin' around (in m opinion).

thedog - 11-18-2005 at 03:45 AM
