So I got the new Subzero in the mail today. Not bad. But is it just me or is Lu just trying way too hard for cred. He's always talking about the
band being around since 1989, but they sure haven't done a helluva a lot. Two full lengths, 1 ep, and 1 7inch (that I know of). I know they broke up
in the early 90's and then got back together but this is a pretty small output for a band. I thought their first album was fucking amazing, but I
thought the ep sucked, he was trying way too hard to be Hatebreed on that one. The new one is still kinda pushin that direction. Just seems since he
did the Skarhead thing he's trying to come off as thug as he can, while at the same time trying to join in with this newer school of hardcore. Maybe
it's just me, I don't know.defstarsteve - 11-14-2005 at 05:25 PM

i think 5 years of his life were spent suffering / recovering from the cancer from what i read.
my old pal shane had a 7 inch from them back in the day and that was the last i heard of them for a while, then i saw em on that tour with hatebreed
around xmas a couple of years ago and was like...subzero? is it the same subzero?...the new cd isnt too bad...not all of it is my cup of tea..the

I 'lost' SubZero after "Happiness..." which was an amazing album after amazing demos. "I found "Necroplis" very poor. I haven't heard the new album
and hope to hear some tracks soon. I respect Lou alot for his long struggle against cancer.geneterror - 11-15-2005 at 07:46 PM

The current drummer did a stint in Machinehead and Snot, Possesed and Testament for a while as well as their second guitarist being from some Grind
band named Cattlepress.
I guess that explains the more "metal" sound.
