In highschool, I went to one show a week. There were a ton of great options in and around Philly in the late 80s and early 90s; one club in
particular had hardcore shows every Saturday. In college, things slowed down a bit due to the amount of school work and the slow scene in Baltimore
(DC had a lot of shows, though). Probably went to two shows a month back then. Over the past 10 years of living in NYC, I've been going to fewer hXc
shows, but going to see more of other types of music.
This year, at a whopping 30 years old, I've gotten off my ass to see Terror (x2), SOIA, BL13, Sheer Terror, Youth of Today, and Clutch. At the other
end of the spectrum, we've also gone to see the NY Philharmonic (x2), the Whirling Dervishes of Turkey, King Missile, The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, and Shonen Knife. Damn, once you write it all down, it sure looks like a lot!
