PARENTS: Of 'your' music, what do your kids listen to?

BDx13 - 11-29-2005 at 07:25 PM

At a year and a half, my girl is really digging Dance Hall Crashers and The Rezillos.

Voodoobillyman - 11-29-2005 at 08:45 PM

Johhny Cash and Deadbolt, also any of my surf stuff she seems to like.

When my daughter was really little, as in when she lived with me, she was big on The Ramones and The Real McKenzies. She would go nuts when I put on anything with bagpipes, but The McKenzies seemed to really do the trick for her.

My little one grooves on The Real McKenzies too. Its all about the bagpipes. She also really likes The Killers, but thats all my wifes doing. I've bought her some Runaways and she digs that as well.

my daughter loves guns and roses, the ramones, sex pistols, and lots of 80's stuff, but she's 10 and can choose for her self what she likes....

the only radio station here is oldies, which she likes alot, so we listen to a lot of online radio, cd's and mp3's, I have never heard her say she dislikes anything

my son.. almost 2, he'll dance to anything, if heavy music is on he'll bang his head, and he has done it since birth.... but I don't think he has a favorite from our selections.
it's all about the wiggles for him... we knows all the dances and sings some of the songs... we also bought him a drum set about 6 mo's ago...
he'll sit and play along to just about anything, not really play the song, but playing all the same

RomanticViolence - 11-29-2005 at 11:51 PM

My kids seem to like the "old school" punk sound... and as tireiron said my kids like the whole bag pipe thing too.

Social Distortion is my daughter's favorite. She's 18 months. Otherwise she likes pretty much whatever is on in the car. That can range from Behemoth to Biohazard to Blood For Blood to the Ramones.

Gooch - 11-30-2005 at 11:52 AM

My son is 3 and he hasn't really heard any hc yet. I don't listen to music all that often at home and when I do its on my iPod with earphones. In the car I usually listen to sports talk radio or some kiddy song cd.

I don't think he needs to be exposed to JUDGE at this age. When he's 12, maybe.

we're listening to Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" this evening, and she hasn't stopped dancing yet. Apparently, she's really into this cowboy-style stuff.
