The Welch Boys - "617" music video

joemaconmovies - 12-2-2005 at 09:27 AM

Just to keep some of you in the know, production on The Welch Boys' music video for "617" is going to be finished this Sunday (Dec. 4th) and then immediately go into editing and should be ready, by the latest, for release in Jan. '06. Go to www.immaconmovies.com to look at some photos from Day One of the video shoot.

Not to bad... Little bored waiting for your other band to get their butts in gear and do something! Hell Ill settle for the 16V remaster sessions, IF that actually happens! I figure if nothings going on by March there might need to be a special Birthday party show for me..... damn I wonder how much that will cost me!?

joemaconmovies - 12-5-2005 at 07:12 AM

Production has finished on the video and now we enter post production. Keep an eye out for pictures, video cclips, and other fun little bits. Also...make sure to keep an eye out for The Welch Boys virtual X-Mas card.

Ed - 12-5-2005 at 04:56 PM

Joe I cant wait for the X-mas card. That was one of the funniest things I have ever seen yesterday!

joemaconmovies - 12-5-2005 at 07:42 PM

I know! It's great! Once Heather sends me a photo I'm gonna make it. I'm starting to edit the video this week too.

joemaconmovies - 12-6-2005 at 12:09 PM

I'm gonna keep a little mini-production journal going on this board just for fun and to keep people aware of the progress.

The video entered post-production last night. I synced up all the performance video to the audio track, I added certain storyline parts, and I'm trimming down the storyline footage. I'll be working on building a little mini-story with the footage and then place the performance footage with the storyline footage as we speak. I'm actually, in my mind, creating a couple versions of this video. At the end of everything, there may be 4 or 5 versions that I'll have to pick from. Maybe a bonus DVD with all the versions at somepoint. Who knows? Stay tuned for more.

.joe.

joemaconmovies - 12-9-2005 at 11:12 PM

The video is basiclly finished. I might polish it up a little bit but for the main part, the video is finished.

joemaconmovies - 12-10-2005 at 01:11 AM

Correction, the video is completely finished. I'll just be doing some exporting and getting it to Thorp in the format they want it so that it can be shown on their website, along with my website, The Welch Boys site, and a few others. I'll have a list up on my website.

BDx13 - 12-10-2005 at 09:52 AM

excellent!

joemaconmovies - 12-10-2005 at 11:49 AM

Duane, e-mail me and let me know what formats you need the video in and if you're making a special page like you did with ramallah. if you need my logo and such.

joemaconmovies - 12-11-2005 at 07:29 PM

I'm beating The Welch Boys to this but...the video is now online.

Enjoy guys.

joemaconmovies - 12-12-2005 at 11:31 AM

Any comments from people?

The guy who helped me film the GTO scenes also did some amazing artwork for some Welch Boys beer bottle labels that never got put in the video, unfortunately. That guy is super talented. His name is Daniel Danger. www.sidsinatra.com is his website. It's called Daniel Danger Illustration. He's available to do some freelance work and trust me, he does some great stuff. He's worked with a lot of very local Rochester, NY hardcore/ screamcore bands.

moron - 12-12-2005 at 11:38 AM

I tried to watch the video last night, but there was something wrong with Quicktime on my computer I guess. I could hear the audio, but no picture.

joemaconmovies - 12-12-2005 at 11:40 AM

I changed it now so that the streaming video is Quicktime 6 compatible. It was Quicktime 7 before. I suggest downloading Quicktime 7 because it's a clearer picture but if you go now you should be able to watch it.

XnMeX - 12-12-2005 at 12:05 PM

EXCELENT! That song is great! I can't wait till their album comes out. I think it will be an instant favorite for me and that the Welch Boys will be a force to be recconed with.

They seem like they will be excelent live and I will go on record as saying that they will fill the void the Bruisers left on boston when Al went to DKM.

wow.... strong words... but ED is a bad ass (and a handsome, handsome fella) so I dont doubt it at all. I just hope he doesnt forget about that side-project he has. The hardcore band from Boston. :)

tireironsaint - 12-12-2005 at 06:41 PM

Seriously great band, if I had more than just the two songs I've heard so far to judge by I'd add them to that list of the best bands I learned about this year. Somebody get on top of gettin' that record out ASAP. Does anybody know if these guys plan to tour? Ed, are you around?

The video was really well done, Joe. Awesome job.

joemaconmovies - 12-12-2005 at 08:34 PM

Thanks man.

I have an early copy of the album on CDR and let me tell you, the album is fucking awesome, all the way through. Not a bad track on the album. If you like "617" "Sink or Swim" "Les Paul" you'll love the whole album and be glad you bought it. Check out their site for some live mp3s.

BDx13 - 12-12-2005 at 11:47 PM

yeah, this video is great. really pretty different!
joe - i've been a mess the past week or so. i'll get back to you shortly about getting the video up on the site. thanks again man, great work.

tireironsaint - 12-13-2005 at 12:43 AM

Is the Welch Boys site down right now? I can't get it to load at all. I clicked the link from the myspace page and it said it couldn't be found. I googled it and the link directly to the site was the first one on the list, but when I clicked on that it did the same thing....

BDx13 - 12-13-2005 at 01:09 AM

i;m getting the same thing.

..........aaaaaaaaaaand now it's back up

Ed - 12-13-2005 at 01:36 PM

Wow! Thanks for the kind words, we have alot of fun with this band, there are no egos, stress and we dont care about how we look or what the latest trends are. We are doing what we like, we enjoy this and it makes it all the better when you guys like the stuff. This makes it all completely worth it to me when you guys are enjoying this as much as we do, I think you can see that in the video. Joe deserves a big pat on the back for taking the time to do this. He did a great job!

Just out of curiosity, what makes it really pretty different? I'm not offended or anything, I'm just curious as to what about it made you think that. Remember, not taking it personally if it's criticism, just a curious guy I am.

And thank you for the kind words, Ed. Get Heather to send me the pictures and movies she shot! I need to get the X-Mas card ready!

It is nice to see someone who truly enjoys this stuff and is in it for the right reasons. VERY refreshing. I love the song "Less Paul" by the way.

moron - 12-13-2005 at 04:15 PM

Awesome song and video! Im glad I can finally see it haha

XHonusWagnerX - 12-13-2005 at 04:18 PM

I finally got to check out the video. The song is fucking awesome. its actually my favorite song off of the demo CD. The video is pretty cool...

Why is it that they always blur out license plates? Whats the big deal if we know the licens plate to TJs car? Oh yeah... how come the candles on the cake at the end dont say 617?

It's not TJ's car and I didn't know if the guy wanted his license plate number shown. My sister works at an insurance company and if she knows the license plate number, she can find out all sorts of information and such. I mean, if he doesn't mind it being shown, I'd gladly take the blur out. I didn't really want to throw that across the web incase he didn't want it shown. And the candles say 40 because TJ is turning 40 in March and the song was written by TJ about missing his family while on the road so we thought it would be cool for him to come home to his family and blow out a birthday cake.

Yah, I figured you weren't saying anything bad. Like I said, the license plate thing was just out of respect for letting us use it. I know they do it on tv and stuff cause you can find out where people live, etc. You can basically do that without the license plate on the net but...eh, just to be safe. I figure the candle thing would be kinda difficult to really get. Actually, to be honest, putting 617 as candles never crossed my mind. That would have been a pretty cool idea. Kinda jealous I didn't think of it.\
