Dimebag

DAK - 12-8-2005 at 07:34 PM

Just sitting here knocking some beers back jamming to some old Pantera.

1 year ago today.

It's amazing how much crap is being sold with his name attached to it now that he's dead. I was looking through the Musician's Friend catalog and his name must have been stuck on about thirty different things in there.

gavin - 12-8-2005 at 08:05 PM

dude seemed like a really nice guy
all the crap ive read paints him as a good dude
im sorry this happened to him even though i wasnt the biggest fan of much of his stuff
this shit could happen anywhere
im sorry it did

Doh! That was a stupid typo/mistake! Thanks for not rubbing it in. My bad.

Also for the record, I like pantera much more than I like the beatles.

Voodoobillyman - 12-9-2005 at 08:47 AM

A loss to musical culture on both accounts for sure, a damn shame.

jonnynewbreed - 12-9-2005 at 01:02 PM

My friend and co worker got a huge forearm piece of Dimebag yesterday. It looks amazing...who ever did it did a great job.

defstarsteve - 12-9-2005 at 01:09 PM

I like both bands, and both men as artists....
but boy didn't both bands gay up music with all the crappy wannabe's that followed...

pantera is a big reason our scene is full of idiots right now

I love Pantera music, but I always thought they were really cheezy. I mean they were like "Headbangers" like 10 years late, but then Phil got into Hardcore/Grindcore and it made the other 3 look even cheezier. All the ultra flaming guitar solos and stuff. GREAT GREAT songs... dont get me wrong, but just lots of aspects to them that if it was any other band I would have been totally turned off. I did get kind of tired of the whole "SMOKE WEED" thing after awhile though.

defstarsteve - 12-9-2005 at 02:36 PM

I have pictures of them a the hair metal band
they are very very sad....

but did write some hard ass riffs...

CR83 - 12-9-2005 at 04:43 PM

It is a shame. For both but I'll be honest. Lennon has never impressed me.

gavin - 12-9-2005 at 04:45 PM

jesus
i dont understand how some of youz cant appreciate the stuff lennon did

clevohardcore - 12-9-2005 at 06:01 PM

whats weird is I had a post in this thread about Lennon being great a day ago but its not hear?? What happened??? It was between defstar and Juans post????

Anyway
LENNON GREAT.
DIMEBAG good.

Discipline - 12-9-2005 at 06:30 PM

No offence to those who dig his stuff, but fuck John Lennon. I hate that hippie fuck.

RIP Dimebag

tireironsaint - 12-9-2005 at 08:15 PM

Honestly the music of both of these people does nothing good for me. I'd rather listen to cats fuck than The Beatles or Pantera. Maybe they were both good guys, I'll never know, but I definitely know that both of their bands did horrible things to music as a whole. The Beatles created "pop music", turning Rock 'N' Roll into the drivel that's played on the radio now and Pantera just helped turn Hard Core into an extension of the moronic metal scene.

JawnDiablo - 12-9-2005 at 08:18 PM

I'd rather listen to cats fuck ......another classic
i may start to collect thorp one liners and post them at a later date
