Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Dicky Barrett

Discipline - 1-5-2006 at 07:14 PM

I was watching Criss Angel: Mindfreak last night and Dicky Barrett from the Bosstones was on there. Apparently he hosts a morning radio show. Guess the Bosstones won't be coming back any time soon.

XHonusWagnerX - 1-5-2006 at 08:02 PM

7:00-10:00am Monday- Friday

www.indie1031.fm says you can listen online, but I dont know if you can listen to ALL the shows.

There are a bunch of 'celebrity' DJs. Rob Zombie, Crystal Method, Steve Jones....

defstarsteve - 1-5-2006 at 09:10 PM

I used to listen to indie103 stream online all the time, but...
they have the shittist commercals, and they only have like 5 of them, and they play them over, and over....
to the point where yo uwill want to pull your ears off.
if they only played the radio shows and the the bs it would be pretty damn good...

clevohardcore - 1-6-2006 at 12:28 AM

Where or how do I get that? I want to check his show out.

Ive had it on for 1/2 hour now and all ive heard is music and a few comercials. Do they play the actual morning show or is it just streaming music? I wanna hear Dicky!

Voodoobillyman - 1-6-2006 at 09:00 AM

Bosstones are definitely missed, one of the greats who broke through to the mainstream and then kept playing good music until the break up. Now all those late nineties radio homos think of them as a one hit wonder. I would like to hear his show too.

We were at a Ska show a few moons back and were sitting at a table having a couple drinks and these two kids at the table behind us were bitching that the DJ (very traditional type ska guy) wouldn't play the Bosstones. And I quote "I don't know why the fuckin' DJ won't play The Bosstones, they're the ones who invented ska." I laughed and laughed.

that is pretty funny, but the Bosstones are one of the bands that got me into Ska and made me go back and learn about more traditional bands like the Toasters and then back to the Skatelits, Madness, Specials etc.

clevohardcore - 1-6-2006 at 09:41 AM

I noticed they had the dudes from ANGEL CITY OUTCASTS on about a month ago.

defstarsteve - 1-6-2006 at 01:00 PM

XHonusWagnerX - 1-6-2006 at 01:01 PM

someone should call in and talk about how he drew the cover for the DYS Brotherhood lp and ask about Impact Unit and the Cheapskates!

clevohardcore - 1-6-2006 at 03:05 PM

I listened a little bit. I am going to try and tune in more. good show. Makes me want to move out west. the earthquake thing bothers me though. I WANT TO LIVE IN THAT WEATHER.
