"nah ... do the other guys know? we'll have to have a practice"

"yeah they know ... fuck practice, we'll just do another cro-mags cover set"

true conversation that happened less than an hour ago.

I've always been lucky and every band I was ever in practiced where ever I lived. My parents were ok with it when I was younger, then after that I lived in houses with enough space to practice.

It usually means practicing no later than 7:00 pm or earlier than 9:00 am. Luckily the schedules worked out for the people in the bands.

In someones house is the way to go if you can because practice rooms can get pretty expensive!

we practice in the basement of this 100 year old house, of a buddy of ours, stone foundation, dank, no windows, bad wiring, bad lighting, smells like dog. not the most pleasent enviroment. but thats where we;ve been for the past 2-3 years i'd say.

My drummer just built a house and soundproofed half the basement.
We went out and invested in a good PA. It rocks. Stay tuned.

We use a storage unit. It's about ten by twenty, cinderblock construction, cold as hell, sound is for shit, 100 bucks a month. Factor in the fact that we share it with another band now and it only comes out to about 11 bucks per person. Not too bad. We actually just moved from one unit to another because of holes in the walls and roof in the unit we were in. Hopefully the new one is better, we're practicing there tonight, so I'll let you know. I definitely miss the rehearsal place in Austin. It was awesome to have a place with a nice P.A., great acoustics and on site supply shop. It did get a little expensive though.

We were jamming in a spot right next door to the Berhinger warehouse, and the guy running it was their service guy, so that got a little pricey.

My last band we had a rehearsal spot in the city we lived in that was made rented ouit to all local bands. Nice building but soundproofing was bad. When you practice you could hear all other bands playing too. Plus it was 300 a month for each room. that sucked. Now If I ever jam its in the basement of my house or a friends. this hasn't happened in 2 years though.

geesh I have used everything from a kitchen to a 500 a month studio space...

I prefer to keep my stuff around the house however, I have had a storage unit broken into and lost some equipment...

I have everyhing set up now in my attic, and maybe someday soon wil lget to start writting again...
It's been almost a year since I have seriously sat down to write, and it's killing me slowly
