Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Sheer Terror

dustone - 11-29-2004 at 02:05 PM

Last night we decided to record "Just Cant Hate Enough" instead of the Killing Time song we had planned to do. A couple of us never felt comfortable playing the Killing Time song, so we talked about it and it came down to Cro-Mags or Sheer Terror.

i'm a little disappointed and a little happy at the same time

I figured Big D of all people would be happy to know this!

BDx13 - 11-29-2004 at 04:41 PM

god nows i love me some sheer terror, but i am also a huge killing time fan, and i don't feel like they get quite the recognition st does when it comes to bands doing covers.

dustone - 11-29-2004 at 04:48 PM

I agree and thats why we wanted to do a Killing Time song, me and our bass player just never felt comfortable playing it. And last night we talked and everyone was down to do the Sheer Terror song.

norom - 11-29-2004 at 04:58 PM

Inhuman has covered Killing Time every single time Ive seen them play.

norom - 11-29-2004 at 04:59 PM

I saw Ensign cover them once too. Half of their set was all covers though, but it was still cool.

dustone - 11-29-2004 at 05:31 PM

I know Cast Aside was doing a Killing Time cover and I saw Reach The Sky do the same song. Figure Four recorded a KT song but have never played it.

Big Ugly - 11-29-2004 at 06:20 PM

It would have been cool to hear the Killing Time cover because I agree with Duane. Killing Time doesn't get covered enough and I don't think they get the respect and recognition they earned and deserve. At the same time I'm curious to hear the Sheer Terror cover.

BDx13 - 11-29-2004 at 06:44 PM

so clearly, dustone, everyone here on the thorp board will happily consume a cover by either band, so let us know how things progress, and when we can get a little taste.

dustone - 11-29-2004 at 06:50 PM

We begin recording Jan. 8

Thats Life - 12-1-2004 at 12:39 PM

Inhuman
Cast Aside
Reach The Sky

Thats Life - 12-1-2004 at 12:40 PM

I've only seen two bands not counting my own do Sheer Terror.

moron - 12-1-2004 at 12:45 PM

oh yeah. I saw The Promise do a Killing Time cover.

Id like to hear the Promise do whatever Killing Time song they cover and have we forgot the version of "Fools Die" that Madball did? Shame on us!

North Side Kings covered Just Can't Hate Enough. You should get Thorp to post it. We recorded it when we record Organizing Our Neighborhood. It just never made it to the record. But he's got a copy.

GabeTexasGAMC - 12-5-2004 at 12:51 PM

This was an awesome cover...got it from the NSK website when it was still up.

In the same breath, I'd also like to point out that Kill Your Idols did a helluva job with Here To Stay and Time Don't Heal A Thing.

BKT - 2-7-2007 at 03:22 PM

Killing Time : Wall of Hate, now that is a great song.
