Is Iraq Showing Us They Need Dictator?

CR83 - 2-24-2006 at 08:20 PM

Boy, Iraq is all fucked up man. Like this is news, huh? Mrs. Reed83 and I were discussing how much of a shit storm it is over there. We have a relative and a couple friends over there in the military. Apparently they are on the verge of a civil war.

That shit didn't happen when Sadam was there, killing people based on his mood. That shit speaks volumes to that society. Will this ever end? By no means am I saying Sadam and his crew should be back in power.

What is the answer? I wish I knew. Thanks Thorpers.

Part of the answer is that you can't just pull out a government like an infected tooth and expect things to go well. Take what happened in Russia. The communist party fell, Yeltsin was thrown in there, and anything resembling an economy went straight into the shitter.

The second part shows that people need government. I know I must sound like a tool, but it's true. Living in an anarchy (and I mean an actual anarchy, not Sex Pistols anarchy), it's everyone for themselves. That may sound good, but everything that you enjoy that needs to be regulated (basically everything) is over with. At least in dictatorship, people have options. It's not good to live in a dictatorship, and I'll never justify or stand by Hussein or any other piece of shit like him, but when he was taken out of power and the U.S. was dismantling the Ba'athist (sp?) Party, 28,000 people a day for about a week at least were losing jobs. Also, rapes, kidnapping (mainly of women), looting, murders, etc, skyrocketed.

Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not a communist, I don't support assholes like Hussein, and I understand that these places weren't exactly beautiful before their governments fell. But what I'm trying to say is that something is better than nothing when it comes to government. I heard someone say once "There shouldn't be government, but there has to be one." I can't help but agree.

Another example is Yugoslavia when Tito died. And whats gonna go down when Castro takes the dirt nap? The guy is a total cult of personality.

Saddam = gay
Iraq = miller highlife

Bruce Springsteeen and Molson Canadians = the best.

Anyone want to buy a house in Lorain, Ohio? I am cleaning the garage and shaping things up for Realty One agent to come buy tommorrow and appraise the house. The Boss and Molson Canadians are flowing like "THE RIVER" "ooooohhhhhhhhh ooooohhhhh oooohhh me go down toooo the riiiiiiiiiiiverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

Nobody needs dictatorship, but everybody needs government. The trick is a just government.

If our government fell it would be just as fucked up as Iraq, probably more-so because we'd go wild not having all the amenities that we've grown used to.

I can only imagine what the US would be like in the absence of government... race war, class war, religious war. Nukes and biological weapons lying around in mounds of dirt off military bases(there's one in Eastern Oregon that I know about that has gas in dirt mounds). Talk about your shit storms...
