Has anyone seen this show yet? HBO, it's a show about a family that moved off one of those Mormon extremist compounds... polygamists. Pretty great.
Really shows you how much of a pain in the ass polygamy really is, and the insanity of Mormon extremists.

i was listening to something about this show, and the someone was
saying that mormons dont even practice this anymore.

polygamy has been illegal for like 100 years, and i believe the mormon church condones the practice, but there are still some that do it.

According to the Mormon Church it is outlawed and they don't allow their members to practice polygamy anymore. Only hardcore old-school types still
practice and they aren't welcome in the church.
You ever want to read some fucked up shit read about Mormons. I did a project on them last semester and they're fucked up even without the polygamy.

Yeah, the family depicted in the show aren't your average Mormons... they're from a cult that lives in a compound.
I love this show.
I think the belief has something to do with reviving an Old Testament practice like that of Abraham or more extensively... Solomon.
Muslims practice it too, and unfortunately in the US that manifests in ghetto dudes getting multiple wives and getting welfare checks. It sucks. It's
an abuse of the allowance in the Qur'an, which also encourages monogamy. Thank God I'm monogamous.
