Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Albums you downloaded first, then actually bought?

Just curious.

haha.. that's a lot!

Your supposed to BUY them after? ;)

I can't think of any I DL'd first then bought off the top of my head. I am REAL picky with music and usually just check out a couple songs and know what I like, then I buy the cd (Like with North Side Kings, The New Breed (though I actually WON that cd ;) ), etc...). usually takes a couple free mp3's for me to figure out if I am buying it or not.

Don't download albums.

I used to DL a lot of stuff, but I havent in a long time. I always buy if its a band that deserves/needs support. First that comes to mind is the Descendents 'cool to be you'.

I have the new SOIA, but I'll buy that when it comes out.

I rarely download anything and the only time I would grab a whole release that way is if it was something impossible to get ahold of like some of the rarer records I'd like to own. Usually I just dl stuff to check and see if I like it enough to buy. I did that with the songs The Welch Boys put up on their site and I'll msot likely pick up anything they release from here on out. I'm still lovin' the album.

i don't buy any albums without first downloading at least three songs and usually the whole album. i want maybe one tenth of what i download on hardcopy, and from that i copy most from rental cd's, so i buy just a handful of albums every year.

latest purchases:
ulver - blood inside
smog - kicking a couple around
starkweather - crossbearer vinyl
os mutantes - millennium
the plugz - electrify me

"Albums you downloaded first, then actually bought?"

I can think of one that PLENTY of people here did it with, but only because it was leaked...

Ramallah ;)

i dont download alot of whole albums.
the only one i have recently was madball - legacy
and i still bought it the day it came out.

The only album I've ever downloaded was The most recent Bad Vibes because that was the only way to get it that I know of. I really dont know how to do it truthfully, but I would never let my friends burn any of my CDs because I strongly belive in paying these independant bands for the work if you like it. Otherwise they will be broke and unable to make more albums, tour etc..... My friends never seem to understand this. They think i'm being stingy or some shit. Fuck em.

clevohardcore - 4-7-2006 at 08:13 AM

I have never downloaded a record yet. I don't know how. I been to kazaa a couple years back and all I noticed was I got viruses and shit from it. It would be awsome to find a place that was actually cool and safe but fuck all that shit with the virueses and adware..

Discipline - 4-7-2006 at 12:59 PM

The only stuff I've downloaded are things you can't get like SSD and stuff like that.

CR83 - 4-7-2006 at 04:22 PM

Biohazard- Means To An End
Ducky Boys- Three Chords...
Social D- Sex Love and Rock N' Roll
7- Seconds- The Live Album
Terror- One With

I too enjoy trying before I buy. I will not download a whole album.

I do however, get the CD, rip it to my PC and then sell it back to the Record store. Anyone else do this? I have everything on my PC and MP3 player.
