English pub sets up in-house tattoo parlour
Mon Apr 17, 9:27 AM ET
LONDON (AFP) - Drinkers at a British pub are being offered the chance to have something extra with their pint -- a tattoo from the hostelry's resident
skin artist and landlord.
The Harvester in Solihull, west central England, is thought to be the first in the country to lay on the in-house tattoo service for customers from a
studio in a converted storeroom.
"It seems to be proving very popular with the punters. We have done lots of tattoos and we seem to be getting a lot of enquiries," said Phil Jones, a
tattoo artist who runs the pub.
"The most popular style of tattoos are Celtic work, portrait work and tribal."
Jones revealed he had "kept his eye in" while in the licensed trade by working at a friend's tattoo parlour in the nearby city of Birmingham.
"The idea behind it was to actually bring more people to the pub and obviously while they are waiting for a tattoo, hopefully they will come and have
something to eat and a pint."
The move is the latest unusual service to be offered at a pub in the English West Midlands. Others in the area have offered health checks for
doctor-shy men and even church services.

When ever you can combine multiple buisnesses together like that you have a much greater chance for success. I totally support that idea as long as
tattoo customers are not to drunk!

i thought that they didn't like doing tattoo's when people are drinking cuz it thins the blood or something unsafe like that....but sounds fun

you do bleed more and there is a higher risk of fainting
and do you want to make a decision drunk that will be with you for the rest of your life
that's like getting married drunk, ewww
but how many shops don't give a fuck?
shops rules vary from place to place so much that if you can't find a shop to work you drunk you're not looking hard enough
there are a million reasons why this is a bad idea, but if it sells pints and tattoos they must be doing something right
so fuck it let em do it

i dunno. i mean, yeah, a lot of drunk dudes are gonna get football logos tattooed on them, but i think the idea is to offer customers something to do
while you wait. both times i was tattooed by bugs at evil from the needle in london, he had tea and sandwiches brought up for us. i am not shitting
you.

My friend drank a few the night before getting his tat done the next morning. It made a difference, he bled quite a bit more than usual and was on
the edge of fainting a few times.
BUT, it was also his first tat, and quite a huge piece for a first tat as it is.

tough to set safe guidelines for that stuff, i think they should have the stuff there for people to make appointments and look at ideas but hold off
on the actual work until they return. or start with the tattoo and then go celebrate with ten or twelve pints
