Jameson does a number of varieties, so obviously, some are more inexpensive than others. I wouldn't say cheap. Also, they are the
biggest selling Irish whiskey outside of Ireland.
So, $12 for a double shot sounds about right for their standard stuff or maybe even the Crested Ten. Glasses of the 12 or 18 year or the Gold would
very likely cost more.
The snobbery around Scotch and Whiskey is quickly becoming similar to what it is among wine fans. You know
my favorite kind of wine? Anything under $12 a bottle. I can't appreciate the differences found in more expensive bottles, and $15 is my absolute
limit in the liquor store. Scotch is different for me though. I'll spend more for something I like, but the stuff tends to last for a while, so I
feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Really, this is all that matters...
