wow, things just kicked up a notch in here!

i recently read people classifying terror and first blood as "beat up your girlfriend music". whatever. it's definitely got a tough sound, but for me, that just gets me pumped to work hard.

First Blood loves camo. Every member of the band had something with camo on it including a guitar. I guess it goes with anything.... I dunno.

this board seems to lean more towards the more traditional old school sound but i'm a big fan of this band and some of this type of hardcore/metalcore, whatever....

i can only take it in small controlled doses, not my first listening choice, but like its been said, it puts you in a certain "mood" whether its to workout, fight, or just burn off some energy, it gets the job done for me

Listen I was rockin' Terror on the way home from work... Don't tell that shit doesn't just let your frustrations with the day out... and today was an easy day for me. If it weren't for this kind of shit I would have lost my sanity long ago.

Yesterday was a fucking horrible day... by the time I got off work I had tight shoulders and a blazing headache... the Disasters was the disc of choice on the way home. It's all good in my book... but come on, beatdown tunes are where it's at after a long day of work... or if you're about to pound on a heavy bag... or if you're just pissed off at some asshole who's running his mouth and you're too big a man to go to jail for beating his skull in.

Gotta disagree man, I think real Hard Core is made for that purpose. All this metally tough guy posturing is boring and laughable at best. If anything, I get more frustrated and closer to venting my anger in a less than responsible way when shit like the bands mentioned in this thread are played near me. It makes me wanna hurt the person who is inflicting that kind of shit on my ears.

tough guy hardcore is like a lot of metal for me...there are so many bands that are really similar, that there only a few that really stand out to my ear.

I guess it all depends on the realness of the makers of the music. I think Terror is just plain well executed shit... though I'm pretty sure those dudes are un-tough.

I love toughguy hardcore, it is my fav. type of hardcore. As far as the hip hop i would have to say that hardcore guys that venture into hip hop are pathetic at best. Icepick is not hip hop, nor is Vietnom or any of that stuff. Ezac's hip hop album is brutally bad, and so is that dick in the ass song Madball tried to do on Hold It Down. Too bad because that was a great album. When I think of tough guy I think of:

Fury Of V
Icepick
No Retreat
Stout
Dying Breed
Stigmata
Death B4 Dishonour
Shattered Realm
Sworn Enemy

bands like that, and those bands rip shit up.

Stout is madness. I love that album, hard as fuck. I think its cool that there are different types of hardcore and that some people are all about one kind and hate another, but those 2 people can also agree on certain bands as well.
