The jist of it...

"Last year a California customer filed a class action lawsuit against the company, saying they failed to provide the "unlimited DVD rentals" and "one day service" they promised on their website

Netflix settled and now you can benefit.. If you were a Netflix member between January and October of last year, you'll be eligible for a free month's upgrade, or a free month's subscription."

Also...

"The company has now revised its terms of service to say: "We give priority to those members who receive the fewest DVD's." "

Thought some of you might wanna see that (I know Honus rents from there and a few others on here).

What a bunch of bullshit.

BDx13 - 5-1-2006 at 07:28 PM

i don't approve of this stunt, but i'd still support them over blockbuster any day.

"We give priority to those members who receive the fewest DVD's."

What a bunch of bullshit that is! What the fuck is the deal and what constitutes "priority". If I cant get the movies as fast as I feel I should get them I will cancel the membership. Fuck them!

i am more than happy with netflix and its service. even if it takes 2 days or more, it is still a bargain compared to my local video store that charges $3.99+ per dvd

For those of you who are have no problems...how long have you had netflix. I've had it for over a year, maybe 2? and I'm totally experiencing this. Takes forever to get me my movies now and before I was going through 6-7 a week. Now I'm lucky to get 3.

XHonusWagnerX - 5-2-2006 at 06:56 AM

Im not having any problems yet. Im probably getting 5 a week, depending on how fast I watch them. Ive only been a member for about 2 months though.

The depot for my netflix is like a 30 minute drive from me, so its not a distance thing. If I'd mail one Monday morning, it'd show in their system either Tuesday with a Weds ship or Weds morning with a Weds ship and I would have the new movie Thurs. Now when I mail on Monday It shows up Thursday in the return que and ships Sat. When it ships I get it in 2 days which was always the case so I know its not the PO.

I'm pretty sure it's slowed down for me... think I've been doing this for like 3 years now.
