Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

PUNISHMENT returns to the stage

BDx13 - 5-4-2006 at 04:44 PM

I just received the following from Joe Hardcore...

Quote:

We will be playing some old favorites, most of the Broken But Not Dead songs and some new songs. We are going to be adding our video as well as some older show footage to the dvd to help out with the fundraising for Joey's family.

Punishment
Wisdom In Chains
How It Ends
Barricade
Drawing Dead

May 9th(Tuesday) at The Rotunda
4014 Walnut Street Philadelphia, PA 19104
7 PM
Suggested donation of $10, everyone is encouraged to give more
No alcohol whatsoever inside or on the premises

Benefit show to raise money for the family of Joey Meszaros (Joey Struggle), who was killed by a drunk driver on February 6th. He had no life insurance, and left behind a wife and 3 year old son. All money raised from this show will go to Joey's family. Donations now can be sent via Paypal to catknuckles@yahoo.com

As you know, all money raised from the show will be going towards Joey's family. After discussing some ideas on how to raise some extra money, we decided to film the show and release a DVD. All money raised from the DVD will also go to Joey's family. Get the word out on this, and stay tuned to our site for the details - http://www.myspace.com/ftfproductions

lotta shows at rotunda these days...never been there myself..ptretty close to me too

DaveMoral - 5-4-2006 at 06:06 PM

I'm definitely going to be at this show. Unfortunately since I have to pay PGW 500 bones as a down payment on an installment plan to cover my gas bill I'll have to skip out on the Business show Sunday. Sucks, but that's life I guess.

JawnDiablo - 5-4-2006 at 06:43 PM

oh shit thats on sunday!..fuck

DaveMoral - 5-4-2006 at 08:20 PM

Yeah, fuck is the operative word I'm using on that one. If anyone on here goes, let me know how it was.

A friends band is opening for the business, the disasters, and brain failure near the end of this month. The venue is ridiculous; its got a salon, wireless internet access, a computer and console gaming lounge, a laundromat, two stages, a skatepark, movies, and study rooms. Fucking southern california!

A salon? Sounds like that place has a serious case of the gay.

crazyfists28 - 5-5-2006 at 07:00 PM

that sounds like the coolest place on earth, but not a place for a concert, thats wayyy to much stuff going on in one venue, especially the salon, emo kids can tighten up their curls and bangs before a show

DaveMoral - 5-5-2006 at 07:05 PM

By the way Philly heads, and anyone planning on checking out the Business here, Joe HxC messaged me today to let me know that there's almost definitely going to be a brawl there. So bear that in mind if you're still going.

Its depressing, a few years back it used to be a a tiny storage room above a skatepark with big windows that people could fall out/jump out . Everything went downhill after they put safety bars on the windows.

He didn't say. Though, if I can make a supposition based upon the Hard Skin show that was here a while back.... I'm sure that alot of the Philly RASHers and ARA types will be there... plus the inevitable showing of boneheads, Hammerskins in particular, and FSU has been sort of acting as scene police... there's a good chance that shit will pop off. The Hammerskins had threatened to bust up that Hard Skin show and everybody was well prepared, you might say, for such an occurance.

Just got back from this show. Punishment was tight. How It Ends was tight, Wisdom in Chains was tight. Barricade was tight(juan, remember that super fat skinhead you saw at the Madball show... he plays bass in this band), Drawing Dead was alright.

JoeBenzon - 5-11-2006 at 04:50 PM

The show was great. It went off without a hitch.

Everybody check out the DVD when it drops on Brotherly Love Records.

DaveMoral - 5-17-2006 at 10:44 PM

When's the DVD droppin'?

JoeBenzon - 5-23-2006 at 02:49 AM

don't know yet.

i'd estimate a month.

DaveMoral - 5-23-2006 at 06:45 PM

Awesome. How's the new venue coming along?

I was the dingus on Centerfuse(Mustaqim) who said something about wallpaper if you wanted it for some strange reason... It's all the skill I can think of that could be helpful though.

JoeBenzon - 6-16-2006 at 05:12 AM

It's coming along awesome. Come check it out. I don't think we have any use for wallpaper, but I appreciate the offer nonetheless!
