cell phones: what do you have?

XHonusWagnerX - 5-5-2006 at 06:25 AM

I'm going to lower my plan now that the contract is up because I almost never use all the minutes I pay for.

I have TMobile and I have a Sidekick II.
Right now I have 600 anytime minutes plus free nights and weekends, starting at 9:00pm untill 6:00am.

I also have unlimited texting (which I use a lot) and unlimited data transfers which includes all the email, internet, AIM, Yahoo messanger etc.

The bill is about $75 a month.

What do you guys have, use and spend (if you do have a cell phone)?

clevohardcore - 5-5-2006 at 08:24 AM

my wife and I have verison 700 minutes anytime minutes and free nights and weekends starting at 9pm. For $97 a month. Expensive but it is 2 phone lines. So its really like $50 each phone. My plan ends next month and I think we wil stay with it. We can't find a better deal for 2 phones.

Ive got the family share plan with the mrs. 1100 minutes shared with the nights and weekend bullshit and some text and pix messaging plan. I text quite a bit while Im on the can at work, so it's worth it. I also have some internet shit on my phone that I rarely use, but Im paying $5/month for it. The bill comes out to just over $100/month. It's a tiny bit cheaper this way than with having two separate contracts.

we've got this phone. It's ok. I replaced the battery because it was starting to suck.

My wife has one that takes pictures, it was a big deal when she got it, but is outdated now I'm sure. I hate those things.

I have the samsung VM-A680. it's got a camera, but i never use it. i have a 500 minute sprint plan that includes nation-wide long distance for $50. no text message package, but on the RARE occasion i use it, they charge me like five cents.

my wife has a pre-pay plan with virgin mobile. great deal for her, costs like $5 a month.

XnMeX - 5-5-2006 at 11:28 AM

This is what I got...

Me and my GF use it. Cheap $50 phone, Got it for free from a good friend of mine who didn't need it. Pay as you go phone, we usually only pop a $20 card in it every 90 days, so it's about $7.00 a month lol. We don't use it much at all obviously, just when we need to get in touch with people for a certain reason, no chit chat.

We wanna get a T-Mobile pay as you go becaose it's only 10 cents a minute as oposed to what we have now at 25 cents a minute.

clevohardcore - 5-5-2006 at 11:45 AM

My phone si the samsung a670. I am going to get a new one in a couple months jsut becasue my plan allows fro a new phone every 2 years for a very small fee. I wil be selling both our present phones when I do. Its a camera phone that sends pics to email or each other. In fact the pic quality is awsome. The PEPPERSPRAY thread I made with the picture of me when I got hit was taken with my phone.

Never owned a cell phone and I've never wanted one. I hate the fucking things.

I have a Motorola Razr v3 black. I use Cingular and have 300 Minutes and 3500 night and weekend minutes. I have the Blood For Blood skull and crossbones for my background.

clevohardcore - 5-5-2006 at 03:19 PM

you like the razor? that is one sweet looking phone.

Gooch - 5-5-2006 at 03:43 PM

I've said this before on here, but I hate having a cell phone. We pay like $75 a month for a shared plan which I may use 50 minutes a month. I can't wait till August for my contract to be up. I'm getting my wife her own plan and I'm getting a prepaid one. Hopefully save about $30 a month.
Oh ya, never sent a text message.

clevohardcore - 5-5-2006 at 04:17 PM

If its rpepaid those are like 25 cents a minute right? Thats alot of money for a minute.

BDx13 - 5-5-2006 at 04:26 PM

virgin is 25cents/minute for the first 10 minutes a day, then 10cents after that.
but they have super low minimum "topup" requirements - $15/90 days. some prepay phones you HAVE to put $20 on your account every month.

I have Nextel, the plan I have (Free incoming 300) is 300 anytime minutes/free nights and weekends (starts at 7pm) / free long distance / Unlimited Walkie Talkie (I use this ALOT) / internet / and all my Incoming calls are free.I get a discount through the company I work for,so I only pay around $45 per month.
Here's the phone that I have,it takes pics and all that other shit that I rarely use.
I have the Motorhead Ace of Spades background.

i have a razr too.
our service is cingular, but i am not sure about the plan.
i know its shared between me and my girlfriend.

the phone itself is good, but i am on my second one.
the first one kept getting dirt/dust under the screen, but it was under
warrenty and they replaced it free.
they corrected whatever was wrong with it, no more dirt.
not

DAK - 5-6-2006 at 07:42 PM

Yeah, I like the razr. I started getting dust under my screen too. I bought a body glove cover for it and it keeps it out. I just bought the usb cable so i can make my own ringtones. I hear some B4B come soon.

if its within a year from when you purchased it
call cingular and they will replace it,
as long as it hasnt been dropped or gotten wet.
i just did this a few weeks ago.

the dust under the screen just kept getting worse on mine,
to the point i couldnt read parts of the screen.
but my new one is fine so far.

how much was the usb cable, where did you get it?

joemaconmovies - 5-7-2006 at 09:34 AM

I have Sprint. I think I have like 300-500 anytime minutes and unlimted night and weekend minutes. I never text or use the AIM stuff. I also have something where if I can anyone on a Sprint network, it doesn't take away from any of my minutes. My bill is like $55 a month. When I had a girlfriend living in Hartford, I used my cell a lot more but at this point, I don't really use many of the any time minutes. I'm happy with my phone though. Gets great reception in a lot of places. Oh yah, it also doesn't charge me for roaming, so if I make a call while roaming, it's the same as making a call in my regular network.

DAK - 5-8-2006 at 01:25 PM

I bought a universal usb cable. I t comes with a few different size adapters. I think it was $12.00 at Cvs.
