When did Jamie Jasta/HATEBREED become irrelevant?

clevohardcore - 5-6-2006 at 04:31 PM

Because I just realised that everything they do is the same rehashed shit. The only reason i never noticed it is because I liked it. Maybe I am getting old, but its boring as shit now. The new song is the same as everything else. He comes up with a good phrase that motivates and then hits repeat until people remember the phrase and they sing it over and over live.

clevohardcore - 5-6-2006 at 04:33 PM

I would say they became corney just before RISE OF BRUTALITY. Because I thought the second record was good.

tireironsaint - 5-6-2006 at 04:44 PM

When did he become irrelevant? At birth.

crazyfists28 - 5-6-2006 at 05:02 PM

he probably has an equal amount of people that hate him as he does people that love and respect him, i guess thats a sign of someone doing something noticeable

DaveMoral - 5-6-2006 at 05:11 PM

That's what mosh-core is all about, I guess. Repeat sing-a-long, repeat breakdown, two step, verse, repeat. It works. I still enjoy Hatebreed... though that new one they've got the video for... not into it. The "this is a battle cryyyyyyyy" part eats shit.

DaveMoral - 5-6-2006 at 05:11 PM

Rise of Brutality is a retarded name for a record though...

crazyfists28 - 5-6-2006 at 05:34 PM

really excited about kingdom of sorrow, disappointed by icepick...

XHonusWagnerX - 5-6-2006 at 06:16 PM

Icepick is the only Jasta stuff I have really liked at all.

ENDERA.x - 5-6-2006 at 07:05 PM

Icepick is interesting. I mean come on, IceT?
Alrright! Haha. Im down.

Hatebreed is good, but simple but this is why they are so big, numetal faggarios love them too (but dont really understand the lyrics).

moron - 5-6-2006 at 07:15 PM

I stopped caring after they started writing songs longer than 2 minutes.

DaveMoral - 5-6-2006 at 10:41 PM

I wonder if the nu-metalers that like the... the kids that buy their shit at Hot Topic... branched out and gave Madball, AF, and SOIA a spin because of the shit Jasta wrote in the Rise of Brutality liner notes...

Jason the Magnificent - 5-6-2006 at 10:44 PM

They have been lowest common denominator hardcore ever since I can remember. Its true that theyre liked because its simple. Every song is the same "rally cry" motivational lyric followed by formulaic song structures. I give them credit because they have done alot with it and Jamey still does alot for the scene and smaller bands, but musically....

Jason the Magnificent - 5-6-2006 at 10:45 PM

A side note, someone told me Frank 3Gun joined the band? I'm sure hes doing it as a meal ticket type thing though and he wont have much of an effect on the bands songs...never know though.

I;d be happier if he just went back to Ringworm.

SAAAAARS - 5-6-2006 at 11:16 PM

YOUR DOOM AWAITS YOUUUUUUUU

i love hatebreed

he sure did

DaveMoral - 5-7-2006 at 09:21 AM

Yeah, 3Gun helped out on Icepick too.

ENDERA.x - 5-7-2006 at 11:13 AM

Truth.

but hey well all know about hatebreed so theres no point in really comparing opinions about them.. haha its all been said.

clevohardcore - 5-7-2006 at 11:18 AM

3 guns is in it fro the cash and I don't blaim him a bit. Its good for him. He busts his ass.

DaveMoral - 5-7-2006 at 07:42 PM

Bills got to be paid, why not pay 'em doing hardcore?

Jason the Magnificent - 5-7-2006 at 08:26 PM

I agree and wish him the best and hope he banks. Point was I wish he could bank off Ringworm instead of Hatebreed.

clevohardcore - 5-7-2006 at 09:56 PM

same here.

DaveMoral - 5-7-2006 at 10:35 PM

I don't quite understand why Hatebreed has such appeal...

clevohardcore - 5-7-2006 at 11:08 PM

maybe UNIVERSAL records had something to do with it? O ansd SLAYER.

upyerbum - 5-8-2006 at 01:05 PM

I gotta say they never held any relevance for me. Not my cup of tea.
