Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Recomend some movies...

XHonusWagnerX - 5-8-2006 at 09:11 AM

I got SECRETARY from netflix based on a recomendation on the board and it was pretty good. I had no idea what to expect and I will admit that I was a bit shocked, but it was a good story, good movie and there were parts of it that were pretty hot!

So everyone recomend some stuff so we can all check out some movies that we have never seen!

Best stuff Ive gotten from Netflix so far...

DIRTY WORK - (Artie Lange) Its hysterical! SO many laughs!!

A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE - good story, good sex scene, good violence, but not over the top!

DELIVERANCE - I know its old, but I had never seen it. If you havent, then you should check it out!

CANNONBALL RUN II - Its the sequal to a fucking classic!

BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN - Yah, its gay, but it was a pretty decent movie. The sex is no where near as graphic as people said.

WALK THE LINE - Im sure you've all seen it, but I just saw it this weekend. It was really good. Definitly made me a bigger Johnny Cash fan!

I have heard this isn't even worth of being called shit, because it would be an insult to shit. You are the only person I have seen say they like this. I love American Psycho, but have NEVER seen 2 and probably never will.

If you're looking for a serious movie then stay away. This is more of a dark comedy, it's not meant to be taken seriously. I like it because I think it's fucking funny.

Yes indeed. Great stuff.

XnMeX - 5-8-2006 at 01:03 PM

Ted Bundy. I can't recomend it enough! Most of the "Serial killer" movie that have come out in the past few years have sucked. Ted Bundy is a fucking gem. Kinda comical in a sick way.

gummo
Death to smoochy
heavyweights
the new guy
vulgar
waiting...

Lowlife - 5-8-2006 at 01:04 PM

Suburbia (1996)
The Lost Boys
Clerks
Mallrats
Garden State
The Warriors
Empire Records
Dazed And Confused

Theese are some exampels of my favorite movies. I just gotta ask, why are Pauly Shore so hated in America? I think that dude are awsome.

I think people just clued into what a moronic tool Pauly Shore is. His act got real old a long time ago.

Isn't AP2 the one with Mila Kunis? The cute brunette from That 70's Show?

That movie bored the shit out of me. Not nearly funny enough to be qualified as the "punk Spinal Tap" particularly the end. Goddamn it.

I'm wating for Boondock Saints... that shits in my cue.

I know you guys will think it's lame, but I've got the Earth Crisis dvd comin tomorrow I think and a couple other flicks, then a Slaughter and the Dogs dvd and tons of kung fu shit.

The Station Agent

if you are a kevin smith fan you should check out
"an evening with kevin smith".
its 2 discs of him doing Q&A at different colleges.
i thought it would be boring,
but my girlfriend bought it for me and its got alot of funny stuff on it.
mostly just him going into some random funny stories.

does it pick up where the first left off? I never heard of it, but will definitely check it out. That movie made such an impact with me it's not even funny. It's one of those flicks you will never forget. The end beating is one of the most brutal fucking things I have ever seen in a film.

upyerbum - 5-9-2006 at 08:44 AM

That was a brutal, wrenching movie, but good. I had no idea theree was a second one.

XHonusWagnerX - 5-9-2006 at 09:25 PM

This thread rules. I just added a ton of movies to my Netflix que!!

the second part is focused alot on jake and the youngest son
its nowhere near as good as the first one but is a must see for anyone that is a fan of it
i liked it but felt it was so tough living up to the first part that it fell a bit short

XHonusWagnerX - 5-13-2006 at 11:15 PM

I got 'Once Were Warriors' from Netflix and just watched it. Holy shit its awesome! I got it based on what you guys said about it, but when I read the Netflix write up I didnt expect it to be that great. Well... I WAS WRONG! Great movie!!

It was awesome to see Jengo Fett getting drunk, singing and kicking ass!

BDx13 - 5-13-2006 at 11:18 PM

yeah, once were warriors is great.

anyone else see 'funny games'? i guess it's not really horror, but i figured some of youz would have seen this, it's so damn violent.

RomanticViolence - 5-14-2006 at 03:27 AM

Hahahha. Oh shit...

Anyone seen Mean Machine? It's a great British take on the Longest Yard... soccer star goes to prison etc etc.... better than the Longest Yard, in my opinion.

XnMeX - 5-14-2006 at 10:15 AM

Now in theatres, just saw it yesterday...

Art School Confidential

Me and my girl were gonna see Silent Hill but it was gone from the theatres (maybe that was a GOOD thing for us) so we decided to take a chance on a movie we have heard absolutly NOTHING about other than seeing the one privew they have for it a couple times.

GO SEE IT! VERY funny movie and has a bit of everything... Comedy, horror, love story, etc...

Spoiler - 5-14-2006 at 10:27 AM

I want to see this movie...
Snakes on the muthafuckin plane

yes,it is a real movie

DaveMoral - 5-14-2006 at 07:59 PM

That movie is going to be awesomely bad, and I can't wait!

XHonusWagnerX - 5-16-2006 at 08:26 AM

Who else has Netflix? Lets get on each others friend pages.

barc0debaby - 5-16-2006 at 06:04 PM

How do you go about getting friends on netflix?

crazyfists28 - 5-16-2006 at 06:11 PM

first you need friends

BDx13 - 5-16-2006 at 07:19 PM

...then, i assume, a netfilx account?

upyerbum - 5-16-2006 at 07:59 PM

once your logged in one of the tabs says FRIENDS. They you enter in the email address of your 'friend' and it sends a friend request to them. Then you can see their list and reviews and stuff.

barc0debaby - 5-16-2006 at 09:24 PM

Dumb question, I went on netflix shortly after and noticed it, but thank you anyways. Ichi the killer is a really good one if you are into visually graphic films.
