thedog - 5-17-2006 at 01:49 AM

Would there be a chance Thorp would make up some canvas web belts?

i would definitely buy one.

I have 2 of those and if the print isnt done right it seems to just peel off. Lame!

defstarsteve - 5-17-2006 at 11:48 AM

cause it was heat transfered

Thats what I figured. I dont even wear them becauseI know that with in a week the print will all be gone.

defstarsteve - 5-17-2006 at 12:09 PM

they can be done correctly that way but it takes someone who knows what they are doing

thedog - 5-17-2006 at 12:30 PM

steve do you do belts?

defstarsteve - 5-17-2006 at 12:43 PM

yah... I dont get what those are exactly

defstarsteve - 5-17-2006 at 04:26 PM

yeah I had extra belts and we were testing the heat transfers on them
the reason printing them direct is a biatch is most belts are 54" long
biggest print I can make is about 18"
so after every print I would have to run each belt thru the drier and print the next section
and realigning it would be the devil

doing it heat transfer i can do about 8 belts at once in 14" sections....
press it move it over press it again

saves about 2/3 of the time and costs way less....

so there is your transfer vs. pritning lesson for the day

thedog - 5-17-2006 at 04:33 PM

what if you just did 18" printing on a belt, instead of the whole belt.
would that work?

The only problem I see with that would be that depending on the persons waist size the print would be in a differant place all the time.

BDx13 - 5-17-2006 at 04:57 PM

when we printed the fabric for george thoroughgood, we used a screen the size of a door. pain in the ass.

defstarsteve - 5-17-2006 at 05:02 PM

yeah we keep things reasonable in the shop
we couls get screens and presses as big as a house, but since we are working out a garage ummm
no...

and eveyone wants the prints to go all the way around the waist....

i hate trends

thedog - 5-18-2006 at 06:01 PM

steve if you ever do make some, let us know.
i would sport a defstar belt.

defstarsteve - 5-18-2006 at 06:33 PM

well the demand for stylish def-star merch is at an all time low right now
but if I do I'm sure I'll whore my self out over here
