Gabba Gabba Hey! ? A Punk-Rock Musical, will open at Koko Nightclub in London?s Camden Town from July 31st through August 5th for a limited one-week
engagement. Tommy Ramone spoke to Punknews.org about the show last May:
[It's] a story about a young kid who runs away from an abusive stepfather and runs away to the Lower East side in the early 1980s and gets into more
trouble. Through eighteen Ramones songs, he comes to redeem himself. The songs really fit well into a storyline because the songs are
autobiographical.
The story is a "a postmodern fairy tale about the redeeming power of love," and will feature "I Wanna Be Sedated," "Beat on the Brat," "Sheena is a
Punk Rocker," "53rd & 3rd" and "Blitzkrieg Bop." Tommy, who is also the production's musical director, will be appearing each night during the brief
run.
The run follows the shows previous openings in Australia and Germany which earned the show the description: "a trashed-up Grease-on-speed [...] ?
parodic, street-wise and ironic yet with a lot of heart."joemaconmovies - 6-16-2006 at 08:29 AM

The Ramones. I hate that band more than Hitler hated Jews.

I love the Ramones, and that's why this pisses me off so much.joemaconmovies - 6-18-2006 at 12:40 AM
Normally, I'd agree...but Tommy Ramone is working with it so my faith/hope in it being good is a little higher then if some random dude was working as
musical director.Voodoobillyman - 6-18-2006 at 12:45 AM

any time you turn on the televison in nyc, you are INUNDATED with commercials for musicals on broadway. don't get me wrong, i have a lot of respect
for the talents that these people have, but i hate musicals, and watching those commercials for ten years drove me crazy.
