Jonny Stevens & the Racket
Saturday July 8th
The Seahorse Tavern
10pm $5
This will be the last show before I put to sea. I'm sailing a boat to St Pierre (technically France) where I'll be playing a gig. Look forward to
some sea shanty's.
Sailing a boat from Canada to France? Personally? WTF?! Explain yourself!jonnynewbreed - 6-19-2006 at 11:46 AM
Just before the new breed put out our record with Thorp I worked as a deckhand on a tall ship. I sailed all through the US and Carribean and was gone
for over a year. Since then i've done a fair amount of sailing with my dad and this year like we do every 2 years we're sailing the Route St.
Pierre/Halifax race. We leave from Halifax on Sun. July 9th (after my gig) and sail to the French Colony of St. Pierre where i'll be playing another
gig.
Now I should specify. St. Pierre France is only about 4 days sail from where I am as it is a colony of France and isn't part of mainland Europe. For
any geography buffs out there it's off the coast of Newfoundland. I'll make sure to post some pictures of the trip when I get back.
Now even though it isn't mainland Europe they still use the Euro, drive pugeot cars and drink bad french wine.jonnynewbreed - 6-19-2006 at 11:53 AM
We're doing this as part of a charity for Feed Nova Scotia by the way.upyerbum - 6-19-2006 at 03:39 PM

The CEILIDH is your boat? I dunno man, that looks kinda small for my taste!
Extremely fucking impressive, though. Have fun. I'm looking forward to the pics.DaveMoral - 6-19-2006 at 09:49 PM
Avast ye matey!!!!
Fly a Jolly Roger!
Seriously... I have immense respect for the sea.... Everytime I got to the beach I think, "wow, I could just be killed by all that just standing right
here on the shore" Fuck getting into the middle of that on a tiny little boat.... No matter the reletive size by our standards... that's just a spec
in the middle o' that mass o' water.CR83 - 6-20-2006 at 11:33 AM
