Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

Customer Service on the phone

XHonusWagnerX - 6-19-2006 at 09:27 PM

So Im having trouble logging into the Sirius website so I can listen online. Simple enough, I call the toll free number wade through all the automated crap that has NOTHING to do with what I need to talk to them about and FINALLY I get an operator. Seems like I am WELL on my way to getting my problem fixed right? WRONG!

The fucking operator I get sounds like he doesnt know what a Satelite Radio is! He has more of an accent then fucking Apu from the Simpsons! 30 minutes on the phone with the guy, my issue still completly unsolved and I finally give up and call the guy a fucking idiot before I hang up. He was silent for most of the conversation. He would as a question that I could barely understand. I would answer him and then he wouldnt say a word for 2-3 minutes at a time!

I know that most companys are doing this with their tech support and I am far from the first to experience this frustration, but what the fuck are they thinking!? This is a service thats only avalable in the US and some of Canada and the fucking people that are trying to help me fix it are in India somewhere!?

FUCK I hate people!!!

dell is fucking insane. your gona wait at least 20 minutes of going through bullshit prompts before sla uman la shaka completly ruins your night

newbreedbrian - 6-19-2006 at 10:49 PM

same here. outsourcing all your customer service sure makes things convenient for the customer. it's awesome trying to explain your problem to someone with zero grasp of the english language. let's see....neither of us knows what the fuck the other one is talking about. really helpful.

the one good thing about bell canada is that they at least keep their contracted tech support in country.

I had to call dell one time and I was on hold for ever. When I finally got a "person" I literally could not understand the guy! I was practicly begging him to transfer me to someone who spoke English. I was tearing my freeking hair out!

He wouldn't transfer me, couldn't understand me and it ended up being about 2.5 hours wasted!!

the latest issue of TIME magazine is going to have a huge article on just this issue of outsourcing to India, it seems they may become the next great economic power thanks to us. Check it out because it is going to affect all of us and our children even more so.

doesn't it hurt the image of the companies? i could see people switching to the competition because they get tired of outsourced helpdesks.

I feel like they ALL do it so there is no difference in the competitions helpdesk service.

my brother actually works for dell in austin texas. he told me they had so many problems with their PCs being assembled in mid china that they might actually bring it back to the states...

If you want to get a human on the phone quickly, you should check out this website http://www.gethuman.com/us/. They have info on there on how to get around the menu systems quickly for all the major companies. As far as getting someone on the phone who can speak and understand English, well, I can't help you there...

It's a god damn shame. I would love to have a job like that. Also, it's great when you get ahold of people and they use Google to solve your problem (I have had it happen). QUITE the profesional ;)

How I can help you?
