HANGING ROCK ? Two wrestling superstars from Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment may be tough in the ring, but they
didn?t have enough muscle to escape drug charges after being stopped Sunday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Robert Alex Szatowski, aka WWE and ECW champion Rob Van Dam, and Terry Michael Brunk, aka Sabu, also a former ECW champion, were pulled over on U.S.
52, near Patrick Street in Hanging Rock at about 10:15 p.m. The two were apparently driving from their performances at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena
earlier in the evening.
According to the OSHP, Szatowski was initially stopped for speeding. When troopers approached his vehicle, they smelled marijuana and performed a
search. Troopers found the wrestler in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, prescription pain pills. Brunk was charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances, according
to the OSHP. Both were cited and posted bond at the scene.
Szatowski, of Battle Creek, Mich., has had a long, successful career with both the WWE and ECW. In addition to being the current champion of both, he
has been intercontinental champion six times, hardcore champion four times and has been a part of several championship tag team duos.
He is scheduled to wrestle tonight on WWE Raw and is also wrestling Tuesday night to retain his WWE and ECW titles during the ?Extreme Rules Match? on
the Sci-Fi channel.
Brunk, who lists his hometown as Bombay, India, on the WWE Web site, has also had a successful career with the ECW, earning world heavyweight
championship titles two times and tag team championship honors three times.
Both Brunk and Szatowski are scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. Thursday in Ironton Municipal Court. Both wrestlers won their matches last night in
Huntington, W.Va. Van Dam defeated the Big Show and Sabu defeated Justin Credible.Discipline - 7-4-2006 at 05:24 AM
I hope they don't get fired.XHonusWagnerX - 7-4-2006 at 10:10 AM
yah I like both of those guys a lot, but it seems like it could be a problem since RVD is the champion right now.Spoiler - 7-4-2006 at 10:59 AM
I haven't watched the new ECW....what channel is that on now and when does it air ?newbreedbrian - 7-4-2006 at 11:03 AM
both those guys are awesome. they were one of the best tag teams ever. when raw came here a few years back a guy i know hooked RVD up. They came to
his house and picked him up in a limo and dropped him back off hahahaupyerbum - 7-4-2006 at 11:34 AM
I'm not a big fan of wrestling, but those guys take some punishment, so can you really blame them for packing some weed and pain pills?XnMeX - 7-4-2006 at 12:09 PM

That is exactly what I was thinking. If I took that punishment in the ring that they do, I'd pop vicodins like candy.clevohardcore - 7-4-2006 at 12:24 PM
hahahahahagavin - 7-4-2006 at 12:47 PM
im not suprised by this at all
they are old friends
both trained by sabus uncle the original sheik
both well known pot smokers
the new ecw fucking sucks
im not saying that just because i was at many shows at the ecw arena back in the day
i really really wanted it to be good
its just not
not at all actually
its cool to see sabu on national tv i guess
but it is NOTHING like the old ecw
not even close
which in and of itself would have been fine if they had come up with something of worth
but again, vince dropped the ball and fucked it upJawnDiablo - 7-4-2006 at 12:49 PM
i could use some painkillers. my spine is killin me and back to the sweat shop tomorrow for menewbreedbrian - 7-4-2006 at 02:07 PM

bro you aint missin a thing
it will just make you wonder what happened to real wrestling
its depressing to watch honestlygavin - 7-4-2006 at 02:12 PM
the show has been based around angle and edge, 2 fucking wwf guys
while i like both of them, whats the friggin point of having them on the new ecw show?
big show beating dreamer in a total squash match?
come on
why?Discipline - 7-4-2006 at 06:24 PM
Vince blames the ECW fans. It could NEVER be his fault the show sucks.newbreedbrian - 7-4-2006 at 11:05 PM
that sounds gay. once again my intuition proved correct i guess. the big slow should'nt be anywhere near an ecw event. and dreamer jobbing to that
idiot? please. didn't he do enough of that in wwe? i think angle is great, always have. he's a great wrestler and awesome on the mic, heel or face.
his match in the ppv was fantastic. although scheduling a tazz match that wasn't actually a match and was over in 4 seconds pissed me off. that sabu
springboard ddt through the table was sweet.Discipline - 7-5-2006 at 05:55 PM
Apparantly Angle is now gonna take a sabbatical because he doesn't like the direction ECW is going. As great as Angle is, he doesn't belong in ECW.
Especially after he went out of his way to piss on the Raven/Sandman crucifixion, which I put in my top 5 ECW moments ever.DaveMoral - 7-5-2006 at 07:47 PM
Is there nothing that Vince McMahon doesn't control???
How can there be a problem with some weed and pain pills when these dudes almost certainly use 'roids in the first place??????joemaconmovies - 7-5-2006 at 09:24 PM
i think we gotta give ecw more of a chance. it was never HUGE to begin with and they need to bring more wrestlers in and develop a bigger fan base
and then it could improve. some of it is ok. i just want to give it more time.gavin - 7-5-2006 at 10:23 PM

while it may have never been huge, it changed the course of all major wresting not only in the u.s. but the world
every wrester worth a shit went through ecw at one point or another
im giving vince no more time to fuck this up anymore then he already has
big show is the new ecw champion

World Wrestling Entertainment earlier this week announced it was investigating five violations, including drug possession, levied against Rob Van Dam
and Sabu by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. WWE announced today that based on information gathered over the past few days, Van Dam has been suspended
without pay for 30 days and Sabu has been fined $1000. These actions are consistent with the Wellness Policy at WWE.

I love the old ECW, but the new show sucks ass. Vince just doesn't understand. I have tickets to a live ECW show in a small college town about 20
miles from my house. It sucks ass that RVD is not going to be there. That was pretty much the only reason I was going. SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!
