dude, im glad i didnt go.
Power outages, bad sound... and maaaan glen benton being an asshole as usual!
So...
Glen decided to stay upstairs the whole time, when he did wander down, it was nothing but trouble.
He kicked out a local girl for having a merch table of candles and a local bands shirts.
he also kicked 3 of the local bands off the bill saying there was too many bands.
He then founf out that the promoter was giving away free promo cds ( the ones you only give to radio stations) away to the crowd. He bitched and had a heartatack and then said that DEICIDE would only be playing 4 sonds due to the promoter being a dumbass.
The promoters were waaaaaaaaaaay out of their league.
seriously. Glen wouldnt go onstage unless he got paid! He said so over the mic!
So they played, even though they didnt get paid what the gaurentee was...
Deicide threatened to burn the place down, talked shit on mexicans who cant speak english, and pissed off the owner of the club. (which I would never do, due to the fact that the place is maaaaaaaaaaaajorly mexican gang affiliated)
So the owner calls the cops to get them out of the club, rather than having people beat them out.
So they play, they leave, they get the cops called on them to get them out. then the guitartist decides to throw a half full can of redbull down to where the cops were.
HA!
Mace to the face and off to jail with you young man!
Assaulting an officer!
It was just stupid.

What is the problem, I would not deliver on a show if I had not been paid either. What the fuck you think this is a hobby, its what they do for a living and everyone needs to get paid. Would you work an extra 4 hours at work with out knowing if you would be paid or not. No of course not. None the less I have heard that Glen can be a bit difficult to get along with, but he has been in the game for a long time and is probally just over all the bullshit that goes with it. Like any biz there is always crap to deal with.

As far as death metal goes, I think Deicide is one of the best acts out there. Love all their albums with the exception of In Torment In Hell, but that was only done to get out of a contract obligation.

Deicide have decided to part ways with current booking agent Tammy Taylor, putting "The Stench of Redemption" fall tour on a temporary hiatus. However, the band are currently working on securing a stronger, more comprehensive US tour to coincide with "The Stench of Redemption" and are planning to hit the UK before the end of 2006. Deicide plan to re-schedule a full US tour for 2007 and are excited to hit the road with the power of "The Stench of Redemption" behind them. "The Stench of Redemption" is slated for release on August 22nd.

Benton acts like a spoilt kid and takes himself waaaaay too seriously. Always has done. I saw them way back in 1990 and they stormed off stage cutting the set short and refused to come back on , 'cause some dudes were shouting "merry christmas" at them (gig was just before christmas), lol.
