Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

what is the most you paid for a cd?

thedog - 8-4-2006 at 09:00 PM

i have been trying to get a copy of
leeways - Born to Expire/Desperate Measures
and it always goes for alot on ebay.
then i checked amazon and someone is trying to sell it for $60.

i know some people will pay alot of money for vinyl,
so i was wondering if anyone has payed something crazy for a cd.

I haven't myself....but I have a brother-in-law who collects 80's hair metal CD's (no shit).....and you'd be surprised at how much some of those CD's go for on Ebay.I've seen his dumb ass pay over $100 for CD's before.Alot of the christian hair metal bands have highly collectable CD's too.

if your talking about the Leeway disc that was put out by Profile, you will have to pay a good price to get that one.I sold my murphy's Law and Warzone Profile disc for about $40 a peice last year. The original Bulldoze - The final Beatdown CD (not the one with the blue bandana on the cover)....goes for around $75.

I've paid up to $70 for an LP,so I can't talk too much shit about people who will pay that much for a cd......I just can't afford a hobby like that any more.

I paid $49.00 for Backyard Babies Total 13 album. I don't care it is so good.

I also paid $48.00 for Buckcherry's CD 15. I got it from Japan 4 months before it was in North America. Love the band, could not wait.

MM.

I was looking to see if Honus posted in here. I am wondering how high in price he has gone for a cd. hehe

myself, I have not bought a cd for a huge price.

My bet is that Boycott has the highest priced CD on the boards. I seem to remember him talking about buying some really rare Swans CDs and such at some point.

I traded like $75 worth of stuff for a bootleg of KISS 'the originals' 3 disc set, but that was YEARS ago! I may have paid $30-$40 for some Metallica imports back in the day. I havent paid that much for any hardcore CDs really.

thedog - 8-6-2006 at 02:07 PM

i dont think i ever paid more than normal for a cd.

as far as that leeway cd, i want it but i wouldnt pay something ridiculous for it.

on leeways website it says they plan to re-release the albums.

morgan - 8-6-2006 at 03:55 PM

The most I've ever spent on a cd was maybe 25. I can't really remember at this point

Discipline - 8-6-2006 at 07:54 PM

I remember spending $50 or so on a cd once, but I can't remember what it was.

Being the Motorhead freak that I am I almost spent $60 on a copy of Ace Of Spades - The Christmas edition. Same album, but the cover add the 3 band members drunk in santa suits. I wanted it just for the cover.

DaveMoral - 8-6-2006 at 08:49 PM

The most I've paid is probably over inflated prices at large chains for metal CDs that don't listen to anymore... you know, like 18 dollars or some shit like that.

Action figures, on the other hand... there's some SW stuff I'd be willing to shell out the bucks for... if I had 'em.

clevohardcore - 8-7-2006 at 10:42 AM

I sodla few cd's that went around $30 some dollars each. I put in a $30.01 bid for the SHEER TERROR BULLDOG EDITON cd on ebay but it was only bumped to $15 and some change.

Vinyl though. I paid $70 for some records. 7 Seconds the crew orignal press. Some old 7 Seconds 7 inches. Judge lp YOT stuff. Supertouch. LIFES BLOOD 7 inch. INSTED, Beyond, Bold, SOIA etc. Unitlt he great flood happened and I well it still hurts to talk about.
