Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

DUCKY BOYS update

BDx13 - 8-15-2006 at 03:32 PM

from Mark A. Lind:
-----
"As pretty much everyone on the board knows, Doug has decided to leave the
band as of August 25. He will be playing 2 last shows with us - one is this
Wednesday in Washington DC with Rancid and H2O and the other is Friday
August 25 at O'Briens with The Welch Boys and Pug Uglies. Jay and I have
decided to carry on with Doug's blessing. So without further delay we'd like
to announce what the future will hold for the Ducky Boys.

Doug has big shoes to fill (and dashing good looks) so we've decided to
replace him with two guitar players so as to return to a 4-piece line-up.
Our new members are Joe "Riot" Osbourne and Tom Derocco, both longtime
friends of the band. We've been practicing with these fellas for a few weeks
now and things are sounding great.

We will make our live debut with this line-up on September 3, 2006 at Club
Lido in Revere for a short set at the Fallen Friends Benefit alongside
Diecast, Deathreat, Righteous Jams and a host of other great bands that may
inspire some backstreet dental work. We will spend the rest of September
learning additional songs and moving forward with new material. I'm in the
process now of booking studio time for Sept/Oct to get some new songs down
on tape and we'll keep you posted on that.

So please join me in once again wishing Doug good luck and welcoming Joe and
Tom to the fold. We promise you a killer record in 2007 and some interesting
live shows."

I have been listening to the last two DB albums nonstop for two weeks. This is very good news.

I don't know about anyone else (this may sound very fruit) but Mark Lind seems to be just an amazingly nice guy.

Best of luck to all of you in the DB camp.

Why would they need Doug's blessing to carry on?:o

BDx13 - 8-15-2006 at 10:06 PM

three equal part, original members, i assume.

Doug's far from an original member though. There are three guitarists that came before him.

all right then, ya cunts, maybe they;re just making nice.

Mark Lind - 8-18-2006 at 03:58 PM

Actually, we counted 12 guitarists in the van the other day. We don't technically need Doug's blessing to go on but we consider this line-up to be the first true line-up of the band because we're all really tight personally and musically so we wanted to do things the right way.

I've been writing songs like crazy for a new record and I am confident in saying it will be fucking killer.
