Absolutely. Best band to feel sorry for yourself, and the best band to feel like your gona get through everything at the same time.....

....while drinking, for me anyway.

Damn good band to get drunk to. When are their new record coming out? I don't have very high hopes for it but I might be wrong.

godabandonedme - 8-24-2006 at 08:27 PM

I thought the newest one was ok, more popish then the rest but hey shit changes I guess.

Last I heard was white light.

They are another one of those bands that I got into way late. I didnt like them at the begining of my 'punk/hardcore' life, but now that Im older and wiser I can appreciate them for being as good as they are.

The Social D live record is one of my favorite live LPs of all time.

I know what you mean Honus... there are somethings that I guess you have to experience life more to enjoy. It's like that with country for me too. Heck, even Mike Judge & Old Smoke(thanks juan!).

I saw Soc D. in 1990 with the Weirdos and Gang Green. I restpected them but that was when I was into GBH CIRCLES JERKS and AF. I thought SD was selling out and bullshit with the song BALL AND CHAIN. I had no idea what I was thinking shit I was 14 and an idiot. I thought the only thing good from them was mommies lil monster. Now I know a little more about music and playing a bit. what they do now is great and appreciate songs about reality and drink. They stil kick ass. Always have. I got to get the new one from last year.

I was actually lucky by hearing and getting into them since I was like 13, always like the little rock an roll not quite hardcore or punk but still punk enough enough cause he sounded like he'd punch you in the face type of thing.

I love me some Social D, I got into them a little late too, with the self titled album.

I can't stop listening to "Making Beleive" this whole summer. If I'm not mistaken it is a Ray Charles cover.

Love that band more than I can explain. Somewhere between Heaven and Hell is my fav. Social D record.

I think "Making Beleive" is a Roy Acuff song, but I may be wrong about that.
Social D is one of my favorites,I love the 2 Mike Ness solo albums also.

Mike Ness solo stuff is great. I wish he would do more of that stuff.

That's good to know. I have a neighbot who was rockin' a Ray Charles CD one night and the song Making Beleive came on. At least it sounded like him. I could be totally wrong.

Such a great fucking song.

OK, the rest of the day is nothing but SD in the office here.

Rock the Fuck On.
