Thorp and Sailor's Grave Board

I separated my shoulder tonight

CR83 - 8-29-2006 at 01:44 AM

My summer league team was in the playoffs tonight and I separated my shoulder. I wound up falling and going shoulder first into the boards. Nothing cool or exciting about it. It is not a major one either. It is "slight" I would say.

This fucks me for my fitness goals though. I could still run though. No weights.

Piss!

P.S. I'm still not 100% sure I'll be informing Mrs. Reed83 about this. Poor thing worries a bunch and our Shortie just started a new day care today. No big deal.

yeah, you don't want her seggesting you cut out the hockey. "maybe you're getting a little too old for hockey, chrisreed83. maybe you should act your age!"
so how does something like that heal?

There was no hiding it. I couldn't even pick up Little Mrs. Reed83 this morning. Mrs. Reed83 was real cool about it. These things actually heal relatively quick. You get a sling for a week, hit the advil and ice and you are back near full strength in 2 weeks. This one is not nearly as bad as the one I have had before. Unfortunatley, I'll have to go to the Dr.

Could be worse that is for sure

Fuck this shoulder thing. Totally sucks.

OK, It is finally getting better. The Reed83's are joining the YMCA today. This will be awesome. It is 3 miles from the Reed83 house and where Little Ms. Reed83 goes to daycare. I'll be able to drop her off and get a workoutin before work. Should be great.

The shoulder is still hurting but I"m getting back into running and will jump on an eliptical machine this week to get the sholder going. I can still make my weight goal and 23 minute 5k.

glad to hear the shoulder is improving.
i was looking into the Y recently myself. one year for my entire family costs less than one month at the local big-name gym.

Seriously? Holy shit. I can't say enough about our Y. It is up to date and probably the best in the area. The staff is awesome too. It is rarely crowded and it is filled with Regualr Joes. Not the dudes "lookin for a spot". We also have an indoor "water park" for Little Ms. Reed83 and a lap pool for yours truly.
