Decoding lyrics

It's strange. Every time I read an article about Napalm Death it always talks about how political the lyrics are, but when I read their lyrics I see nothing of substance in 99% of them. Most of the time I can't even make any sense of them. A lot of the time it seems like sentences randomly thrown together.

Its like DROPDEAD from Providence. They are an awesome band and I love to see them live. They have SUPER political lyrics and lots of lyrics about animal testing, veganism etc. However.... You cant understand ONE thing that Bob says.

That is the definition of 'Preaching to the Choir"

I don't mean I can't understand the vocals. I've read some of ND's lyrics in the cd booklet, and I don't see anything political in most of the songs. In most of the songs it doesn't seem like ANYTHING is being said, just random sentences thrown together.

That's the beauty of grindcore though dude.... you can be hyper political and yet seem like you're talking about nothing. Appeals to everyone.

Kind of like the Simpsons.... there are jokes in there that only a certain demographic is going to get, and then there's "D'OH!"
