This is sort of a rant of a noticed thing...

Maybe I'm just weird, but I've noticed a few of the bands that have been around for a while, in this case, terror, madball, sworn enemy, I was feelin all of their older merch designs, now out of print mostly, now it seems all of the bands, their new merch designs just suck. Is it because they are trying to appeal to the new generation of scenester-ish hardcore kids or something? I'm not into it at all. I've gotten bigger over the last year or so and now nothing fits me, I have to sell alotta the older merch I own only to find none of the bands make it at all anymore even though they were good sellers and everyone loved the shit. I understand they need to have new designs and keeping older ones in print all the time might be a waste of money, but wtf cut the shit designs and bring some hard shit back! I could be just crazy on this but from a designer's perspective I'm seeing shit lately. Just not into the style at all.

I find too many bands, particularly some you mentioned, leaning towards the "urban thug" style in their merch and I won't let any of that shit touch my skin.

Honestly, I think all of the bands mentioned in this thread are worthless shit, but a friend showed me some of the new Terror shirts because they were so ridiculous, so I knda know what you're talking about. That shit looked like shit that belongs on some 80's high school metal head's class folder or something. Seriously cheeseball designs with corny fucking slogans like Spit My Rage under crappy looking dragons and shit like that. As for the urban thug look, when can we lose the moronic gang bullshit already?

the designs these bands and alotta bands have now are just ugly, corny as fuck! and whats with all these ugly colors! lime greens! get the fuck out! "That shit looked like shit that belongs on some 80's high school metal head's class folder or something" so true.... and its not even just these kinds of bands its all hardcore bands haha, even youth crew ones, just ugly ass shit... all i picture is curly haired little scene or youth crew kids rockin this shit with really tight pants trying to be cool in a pit - err...
