Anyone have any idea what I can/can't send overseas to friends in Iraq?

joemaconmovies - 12-15-2006 at 05:11 PM

Kid Ugly - 12-15-2006 at 05:15 PM

I'm looking to send over a good package stuffed with awesome stuff....My main concern is whether or not I can send alcohol.

from the USO's website:

"Due to heightened security, individuals can no longer send letters and packages marked for delivery to "Any Service Member"."

http://www.operationusocarepackage.org/site/pp.asp?c=ikLVJ7M...

BUT...here is a list of organizations you can send through:
http://www.americasupportsyou.mil/AmericaSupportsYou/send_pa...

Do they mean any service member or if someone puts "Any Service Member" as the receiving end? Stupid question I know but that's how they make it sound.

Thanks for the heads up, but I am actually shipping to a specific person. Although now now I know where to start looking for more info.

I'm pretty sure the US goes dry when they're operational. They always used to get cheesed cuz we had beer comin' out our asses.

barc0debaby - 12-15-2006 at 08:20 PM

Bases in Iraq are suppose to be dry. I know the Navy is putting a vice on our nuts when it comes to alcohol. Iraqis make some nasty moonshine from what I hear.

That what the fools don't get, if you don't give the boys something to take the edge off once in awhile, they'll find something, and it may not be as wholesome as a beer.

You can send whatever you want as long as it's legal here, it may/may not be confiscated, but it's worth a shot.
